Giving credit where credit is due, in that video Tedy raised Eritrean Flag first, to make the guest "comfortable". As a non sell out Ethiopian, he mentioned HIM afterwords; what we can't be sure of is, to what degree the name HIM offends PIA? Is it more than Meles/Mengistu's name? That is, notwithstanding PIA has a "Royal blood" himself.

If anyone is upset then, those are the confused ones, the ones who want to kiss PIA's behind using all means available! however, one thing is certain, PIA is not stupid.

That's wrong. Dr Abiy gave a very important speech early in his tenure where he goes into detail the importance of music and art in uplifting citizenry and he made many mentions of the significance of Teddy in this regard.

So there is no question he values Teddy's contributions and for espousing Ethiopianism at a time when it was being under relentless attack. But like I said, even when there is broad consensus on what HIM means to the country, if you know your guest is likely to be upset by any such mentions, you should know enough to be quiet about it. That puts Dr Abiy in an even more awkward position.

There is some መንሸራተት from from your original ጥያቄ. You've now also included multiple criteria that are not in the PM's job description. Nonetheless:

1) He just held a massive concert the previous year. You expect him to come out every year? Plus I'm sure even Teddy is apprehensive about being a tool for any particular politician no matter how much he might agree with them in the moment.

2) I don't think so. Teddy's music and message is important to Ethiopia, not to Eritrea. They might even disagree with much of it and that's their right. His inclusion alone in the event is sufficient, but even that is not necessary.

3) His music is mainly about understanding and appreciating his own country and history. It doesn't really translate as well for Eritrea or for building relations there. But like I said above it's still not within the PM's day job to pick who goes there.

My point was, it was not worth some cheers from the crowd if it has the potential to upset a guest you're throwing the concert for in a very historic moment. He should have known as much.

You can think and feel any way about anyone in your own personal time, but in such a venue it's not as5 kissing to not introduce something that can sour relations. It's just creating additional work for someone else to clean up after.

Your biggest problem is mistaking our respectful attitudes with wanting to be part of you.
Get your house in order, work to keep Ethiopia intact from becoming another Yugoslavia. You should worry about this.
