I keep saying to my Somali people that we've to be careful about Turkey. Turkey is no one's real friend, it's only after its own interests and goes wherever these lead it to. The Turkey of today is just for business and nothing else. Erdogan is nothing but an emotional speaker to protect and promote his own personal interests and nothing else.

Remember about Jamal Khashoggi, he kept saying that Turkey had undisputable evidences on the killing and that Turkey would show it to the world. All this was to get concessions from Saudi Arabia. Remember, if UK recognizes SLR tomorrow, Ethiopia can legally execute the MOU the next day. I keep telling you that MOU and SLR recognition are separate things. If tomorrow, Hassan Sheik gives us a port it does not mean it cancels the MOU. It simply means that another country will recognize SLR and we execute our deal with SLR after that. So your basic error is that instead of solving SLR demand you are wasting time with Ethiopia. SLR recognition can be delayed but can not be stopped. Ethiopian Navy can be delayed but can't be stopped. Somalia is splitting into 5 parts because of its internal dynamics, not Ethiopia. Do you at least know that there are 650 MPs and about 20.000 local councillors in the UK? Therefore, I leave you to guess what a bunch of councillors out of 20k would make. you are responding to your own wishes. Remember, Ethiopia never said officially that they will recognize SLR but both Ethiopia and Somaliland are already doing everything as two independent counties. Ethiopia's vagueness is the raw meat they are throwing to AU. US, Turky ,EU etc. You can wish anything all you want. In January you made a joke on the very idea of Ethiopia seeking a maritime status and now Ethiopia's demand is all but an accepted fact and we are debating how we must do it.

in fact Turkey is playing on Hassan Sheiks stupidity. Turkey is about money, period. Turkey has billions of dollars interest in Ethiopia which she will lose if she opposes Ethiopia. So they are frantically trying this and that. Ethiopia did not ask to deal with Hassan Sheik. Eritreans are trying to sell their 10,000 army in Somalia protection deal Hassan- it is all about money. In other words, AU could give the green light to Ethiopia/SLR to move. So no problem! SLR has lived without recognition for 30 years and Ethiopia without sea port. We can wait another 6 month. The frantic urgency of Turkey tells me something big is in the making.
