But the bad news is the socialist dictator is an idealog an old dog that you can’t teach. So he’s naturally not flattered to see flashy things like high rises, I bet you he was thinking what a waste of time and money instead why don’t they build a dam, school, clinic to kids in the periphery of Ethiopia like Somali, Gambela or other small kilil...
So I don’t see him wishing good things to Asmara as Abiy’s doing to Addis.
My personal hope is for him to see that he can do his socialism failure nation building adventures side by side Flourishing private sector that can help his regime’s image by renovating the historic building of Asmara.
There are private Eritrean with known how and capital that can renovate Asmara’s aging house owned by the government by privatizing them, plus there is enough money wealth accumulated by Eritreans all over the world that can double the size of Asmara and Massawa and asseb in 5 years, but the socialist dictator is in the way.
You can be related or loyal or friend doesn’t matter, every body is banned from doing anything private.
Unfortunately there is a saying that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, hardcore socialist like Isaias supported by cult worshipers is hard to bring change, unless the almighty intervenes in the suffering of all Eritreans pro and cons indiscriminately uprooting the residents to show a false sense of peace and tranquility.
I am still hopeful about the halal meriet despite obstacles... change is coming from within... soon... stay tuned.
And give credit to where it’s due: thanks!!! H.E Abiy Ahmed for the Christmas gift of an embassy building (if you think about it, the gift is to Eritrea’s future generations, not to our first president personally), besides for showing better farms , industrial parks & dams, than the once in Eritrea the dictator brags about (I know him and that’ll hurt his ego most, the Addis beautification Not so much
(Don’t let the dyed gray black hair fool you)
