The Chairwoman of the Nobel Committe said in her opening speech: "we are in essence all Ethiopians" and that touched me more than everything else in the whole of the ceremony I heard on an internet video clip.

This message will be heard all over the world today and I found nothing more refreshing than this praise and recognition for my people.

Of course I don't mean that I am not happy for Dr. Abey to have achieved such a recognition on an international stage.

I am also happy that the internal bickering of our political actors declared an armistice for today, at least.

I think that too is a wise move, in my view.

You made us proud. We will never forget how you brought the fight against the TPLF ethnic junta to its first phase of success, and saved the country from apocalypse!

Abiy deserves all the accolades heading his way despite his shortcomings . Ethiopians whether we admit it or not we are in quite different plateau than we were just a year and half a go. Sure many good and bad and worst things happened in Ethiopia in the past year and half , but no single Ethiopian want to go back to the gulag days of weyane. Yes the threat to our unity has risen precipitately but if we organize ourselves we can get things under control and establish a democratic Ethiopia that our posterity could be proud of . The struggle is ours not only Abiy's . Benjamin Franklin once said: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. We are not going to give up the freedom that we earned because of those who conspire to scare us so that we hide behind authoritarian curtain in fear. This is the day We all Ethiopians and Eritrean brothers need to be proud of , because peace is at hand . We can built a future together with mutual respect. I also am very impressed how Abey was able to represent Ethiopia and Ethiopians in the award ceremony. The Ethiopian musician at the stage was also magnificent. God bless Ethiopia.
