Re: The Peace Prize winner , Abiy Ahimed, refuses to be interviewed when he comes to Norway to receive his prize

When this is the first time he becomes shy to international media, then his mind is made up why and I'm not the reason for it! Don't tell me the dude doesn't love attention and adoration coming from not only the media but anyone who can offer it and repeatedly clams up when the going gets tough. That's situational "shyness" imposed on him by "culture" as BillyGoat said.

He is not staying home as you assumed. He is going but avoiding his beloved media and the cameras they bring along this time around to avoid being asked some burning questions.

Make up your mind. Either he loves the media and can't get enough or he is afraid of it. You just scream one or the other based on when it suits you.

His number one obligation is to local media and delivering on their concerns, not to giving press junkets to international media on their time and leisure. I agree he should entertain any scrutiny from any quarter but there is no rule that says it has to be on the same day that is more useful for the country if left as a celebration or if that day conflicts with other engagements. Maybe the reason you are this worked up over it is because you had plans for it to be spoiled and it didn't work out that way for you.

His spokesperson can give any reason for declining the interview, often times using the most diplomatic and delicate language possible. This is the job of a spokesperson..for any country. As it so happens, it's also within our culture to make up reasons to decline offers from a host just to not offend them.

But I still don't see why it should affect you whether he gives an interview or not. Clearly you have made up your mind about his character and intentions. There is nothing an interview would further enlighten for you. So obviously you wanted something else out of it that you won't be getting. And I'm glad you're not getting it.

What more can this news that gets funnier by the minute give me? It should be titled the "laugh giving news of the year!" It has been Saturday Night Live by the hour sometimes by the minutes. If you can top it off, it will only be good. Hope BillyGoat has other comedic lines crafted in her sleeves as this will become the norm in the future!

Who knows? Maybe you were planning one of your many pointless rallies or some fake Abebe Gelaw moment.. There is no end to the things I've seen people like you cook up for attention even at the expense of your country, so honestly whatever it was, it wouldn't surprise me. I'm just happy all you're getting instead is to mock the spokesperson. No harm in that.. carry on.

There is a possibility that a big rally against the award to take place at Oslo the same day arranged by the baladera and Eskindi and Ermias Legesse expected to make a speech.
