It has always been the policy of the TPLF to desecrate grave sites in order to demoralize and dehumanize people whose loved ones are buried at the cemetery. Our TPLF leaders did the same thing during their 1998 invasion of Eritrea, when our Tigray democratic forces briefly occupied an Eritrean town and they ravaged an entire Eritrean martyrs cemetery like a bull in a China shop.

TPLF's logic is: When an astute enemy conducts a strategic withdrawal, you're left with no one to kill but the dead.
