There must be a law that should ban a rally anywhere in Ethiopia which has not been a priori granted a permission to do so and known to the authorities before hand.

There is no country in the world that is ruled by a law where a rally of a crowd of thousands and hundreds of thousands people would be allowed and come to the streets in the name of peaceful demonstration and instigate all kinds of lawlessness, not in a democracy and not in a dictatorship. Ethiopia can’t be an exception. Ban any kind of gathering of more than 10 or 20 people coming together and holding a “peaceful protest rally” without an a priori consented permission of the respective authorities.

Violation of this law should then make accountable the trespassers for any kind of damage that is to follow as a consequence of the illegal rally.

Let justice be served to the victims of the mob rage in my country.

Look at what the so called Oromia Police Commissionar is trying to say. "People went out to express themelves about what happened prior to that (I think he is implying about the so called security guard) but then he tries to blame the 'trouble makers', who joined in the protest to advance different goals to cause the havoc". They were sleeping and the intruders exploited the void.

He didn't even admit or deny that the protest rally was not even legal or illegal. This indicates how they try to blame others for their own failure.

Let alone in Ethiopia where law-lessness is so widespread and the country is run by a collection of mangas at different levels, even in ripe democracies a protest can only be held after it has been approved by the authorities. Why were they sleeping to implement such a policy?

if protesters gather in response to breaking news, the First Amendment requires an exception from the ordinary deadlines in the government’s permit process. there is an exemption for spontaneous responses to current events.

U Want them to wait 15 days to get permit because it required time for the police to give you permit by then the breaking news is gone .. what is the point protesting after that..

the permit only required when u plan protest in future date ... when it is not spontaneous.. anyhow what is your respond even if u think they need permit start mass arrest and causing more problem and more life lost or let them release their frustration and cool down...

Izikel garbisa once said something a tv-discussion and as soon as his counterpart has hit back he then instantly turned 180 degree and said, no i didn't say that. This was very an embarassing for someone who may care about his personal integrity, but the guy lacks that quality.

You were against any kind of protest during your master day's now you turned out and said the protest shouldn't wait until even the authorities approve it. What is more amazing?
