Two problems with that. Ethiopian Afars are just fine on their own within Ethiopia. Second problem, Tigrayans would claim even more Eritrean lands than they are. Let them deal with Amharas and Eritrea as to Welqait and Badme. Leave the Ethio Afars alone.

BTW, Eritreans should only mind Eritrean affairs. You may be trespassing.

That is fine with us ሓሳድ ወያነ፡ as long as you guys don't trespass into our own territories. To start with, get the hell out of ALL Eritrean territories as outlined per the EEBC FINAL & Binding decision and stop alluding to dream about getting back Eritrea as your occupied territory. Listen we always were, we are and we will be for peace ONLY if Ethiopian leaders like PM Ahmed Ahmed can ascertain peaceful coexistence between Ethiopia's apparently fragmented clans as a country and Eritrea. Otherwise, you can kiss your unachievable evil dream of reversing our hard-fought and hard-won independence of the State of Eritrea aka the creation of "ዓባይ ትግራይ".

Ethiopian Afars are just fine on their own within Ethiopia.

We Weyane feel that the Afar people in Eritrea, Ethiopia and Djibouti are so marginalized that the only way to liberate them is by making them part of our Greater Republic of Tigray nation.

Our TPLF manifesto below clearly states that Afar, including the Awash River, is a Tigray territory. Full stop!

• a) A Tigryan is defined as anybody that speaks the language of Tigrigna including those who live outside Tigray, the Kunamas, the Sahos, the Afar and the Taltal, the Agew, and the Welkait.
  
  b) The geographic boundaries of Tigray extend to the borders of the Sudan including the lands of Humera and Welkait from the region of Begemidir in Ethiopia, the land defined by Alewuha which extends down to the regions of Wollo and including Alamata, Ashengie, and Kobo, and Eritrean Kunama, the Saho and Afar lands including Assab.
  
  C) The final goal of the TPLF is to secede from Ethiopia as an independent “Republic of Greater Tigray” by liberating the lands and peoples of Tigray.
