The aim of federal structure should be to facilitate economic development so that the government reaches the people in all villages and towns. It helps us distribute wealth equally. The people at village level will be active policy makers and it will be easier to contol and audit the financial or other aspects of government at village level.

Infra-structure development can be best monitored and advanced when there is a federal structure. Ethiopia should be divided on geographical bases. No ethnic group should claim a territory of it's own. Promotion of culture could be addressed as part of the local or provincial governments policy.
We should focus more on the Ethiopian common good rather than on ethinc special issues as is the case now.

If we force economic development upon ourselves, if we employ millions of youth in the manufacturing sector and if we are able to raise the standard of living, then ethnic differences will be less important. Ethiopia should in fact forbid ethnic groups to be organised as political forces.

Each province should be about 20000 - 30000 square km. We should aim to be pragmatists and try to rearrange the current Ethnic Federalism into something practical and productive. Some regions like Ormia and Somali may loose their territories to new provinces. Amhara might give land to northern provinces (now Tigray) as each province will have about 20000 square kilometer area.

We rather build Ethiopia as a nation by destroying ethnic nationalism by providing more rights to all as Ethiopians.
