Unless you want the regions to create statues of those objects and hang them on walls or carry them during parades, once you depict them on a white or colored fabric or paper, they become a flag.

Oromos use Oda as their symbol with various color stripes as a background, which some appear to have been borrowed from Egypt, Yemen or Sudan. Woyane adopted an ugly communist red-yellow flag with a pointy pentagram in the middle. Only Amharas have abolished the satanic symbols & reinstated the Ethiopian flag. But why does it matter what flag each region chooses to adopt? It’s none of my business as far as I am concerned. And who are you to dictate them to use otherwise?
