Misraq, you just wanted to give us the laugh of the day, right? First, how on earth can these seven bunches/groups with dissimilar languages be classified as a single ethnic group? Does that even meet the minimum criteria cultural anthropologists or ethnographers use in the scientific classification of ethnic or cultural groups?
Second, let’s assume for a moment that a Wurage ethnic group actually existed. What explains losing such a huge territory to the Gala? Historically, groups can lose some territory, of course, but something major must have happened. My guess is that some of the Wurage groups collaborated with the Gala expansion, just as opportunists and collaborators we see in toady like Biranu Nega, Horus, Odie. It is unfair to totally blame only the Gala for taking land while some Wurage groups may have fled without resistance or cooperated with the Aba Geda system, contributing to the decline of Wurage as a tribe — if there ever was one in the first place.
My opinion is that the Wurage have to take a look at themselves before blaming the Gala. Look, the Wurages are posing as more Gala than the Galas themselves. They complain not about the loss of their ancestral land, if they had one, but about the Amhara, which has nothing to do with their loss. While they have no business in the conflict between OLF-PP and the Amhara, they still put their nose into it and stand in support of Gala Abiy Ahmed. And yet, they complain that Amhara freedom fighters are against them. What a joke!

No contribution to strengthening Gurage identity is too small. When summed up and integrated, they have the effect of making the history of Gurage elaborate. Hard facts, folk history and poets dramatization and synthesization of both make the history of Gurage richer than each by themselves.
On Gurage history, up to the present, the best authors to consult remain Prof. Martin Bernall and Dr.Lapiso G. Delibo, Al-Makrizi and Al-Umari. They published Gurage history which Gurage historians Prof. Bahru Zewde and Dr.Libamlak refrained themselves from publishing. If Aba Moga wanted to go to a great length in search of ancient Gurage history, he could have read the works of Egyptian historians Al-Makrizi and Al-Umari. At least seek out modern writers on Gurage history such as Prof. Martin and Dr. Lapiso.
It's interesting to note that even a poet from Ambwe, our former Gurage land which speaks Oromo now would be interested to shed, if I can say croc tears, on the stretches of Gurage territory.

The history of the Gala Invasion, by Prof Alem Eshetie is a must read thesis. The late Prof was a historian and a professor at the University of AA.
It is a simplified version of the Aba Bahery writing. Anybody who is interested to know the truth must read the literature.
The Oromos know the Guraghies very well. They will eat them alive. At this point the Oromo’s ally are the Hadiyas. For the Oromos, the Guraghies are a useful idiots.
The Guraghies natural ally by all accounts and measurements culturally, economically, spiritually etc are the Amharas. 100%. But because of inferiority complex the Guraghies are digging their own graves.
