Well, I say this : ቴዲ is more sophisticated politically than the people who visit ER regularly. He loves his country that practically translates he hates ethnic politics. He loves his family, and that too translates he wants to see a country In which his children could live and make a living in any part of Ethiopia without being considered unwanted መጤ።
One should take into account the above facts when trying to understand the meaning of his ቅኔ።
A lot of people want the message of his songs to reflect their political beliefs. That is understandable.
But it is unwise and pretty inane to assume he supports in any form or shape tribal politics. That is not Teddy.
He was not when TPLF had the monopoly of power ; it sure certain cannot be today.
His latest songs have proved one thing more than anything : ኢትዪጺያዊነት is alive and kicking. Overwhelmingly those millions who have heard his music the very minute it was released are what Eden calls “ fake” Ethiopianist.
Well, yesterday they had one of the best days of their lives ; it will continue.

Eden, for the million time I am telling you I do not necessarily “support” any politician. I support political ideas. If some politicians share my beliefs that does not mean I personally support that politician. Two different things. Yes, there is an overlap, but still different things.
As for the መጤ አሉባልታ, spit it out. አልጠነቁልም።

I agree with you 100%. I don't know if you understand Guragegna. I his song ስምምነነ his central messages are - Ethiopian existence, Ethiopian unity, and Ethiopian modernization. I for one have been arguing with others that Abiy's government should flip his message positively to do two things. One: Teddy has deeply shown the sentiments of the common people. Abiy should use this public sentiment as a feedback toward sovling these social problems. If I am right, Teddy's main beefs are the absence of social peace and problems of social dislocation resulting from corridor development. The problem of national unity is a well known national problem. Second: Teddy's advocacy for modernization is actually what Abiy is trying to do. So, I believe that Teddy's messages are actually against TPLF, Fano and OLA. On a much more higher level, Teddy's frustration has to do with the ineffectiveness of the National Dialogue process. Ethiopia badly needs a political development (political reform) just like the economic development (economic reform).
