For the last 34 years, we have attributed every failure—the lack of infrastructure, the unabating flow of refugees to foreign lands, the absence of the rule of law, and the lack of basic human rights, to the unresolved and undemarcated border between Eritrea and Ethiopia. Woyane was used as a bogeyman,' a variable inserted into every equation of our lives to justify our collective failure.
In 2018, after the TPLF was forced to cede power to the current Ethiopian administration, the border issue which had held us hostage for nearly 27 years was suddenly dismissed as a trivial matter. Instead, we were told to work diligently to stabilize Ethiopia, a project that resulted in the deaths of thousands of young Eritreans whose parents, to this day, have not been notified.

The stagnant economic activity in Eritrea has been blamed on Western sanctions. However, the regime seems satisfied with the status quo, having launched no significant diplomatic campaigns to persuade the United States to lift them. In contrast, consider the current Syrian leadership. Despite , he was a notorioius terrrorist who beheaded people for fun, and 10 million dollars bounties by the FBI, we have seen rapid diplomatic shifts. Following the fall of Bashar al-Assad, new leadership was seen engaging with the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, leading to the lifting of sanctions.
Geographically, Saudi Arabia is closer to Eritrea than it is to Syria. For its own security, Saudi Arabia is actively trying to counter Israeli and Emirati influence in both Sudan and Somalia. Given this context, one must ask: why has the Eritrean leadership failed to persuade or even begg the Saudis to help urge the Americans to lift the sanctions? The answer is simple: There is neither a desire nor will to make a better future for Eritreans. Under the belt of the useless sodomite dictator, the vicious cycle of death, destruction and disintegration of families will continue unabated and the country foundation will be shaky it will fall under its own weight.
In the meantime, we are offered a real dose of empty slogans and zeraf zeraf as zeraf zeraf can bring prosperity and development.
