Amharic is shrinking back to its origin in Lasta. Doors are closed on it in Sidama, Hadiya, Welaita, Oromo, Somali, Benishangul, Gambella. I am proud of them.
Gurage is now offering lessons in Gurage language in Gurage schools. Girage Zone administrative language is Gurage. Gurage Media Network broadcasts in Gurage. It discarded the old adage that said Amharic is Ethiopia. Sadly, it waited too long. Next step is compiling a comprehensive history of Gurage upto and beyond the 12th century.
