Tabot has no value because the tabot, the sacrifice, the priest Jesus replaced them. Orthodox does not necessarly mean Tabot. Nobody knows where the Tabot is. I personally don’t believe neither in tabot nor its presence in Ethiopia. I am not a protestant. I am a christian and believe in Jesus. I don’t represent any sect so don’t expect anything beyond that. Yes, EoC has dogma and won’t escape scrutiny. Like the political tide, EoC is passing through that. No word mincing is required. The EoC during dark ages and internal conflicts, muslim and Oromo war was disconnected from the outside world. That is why we have ገዳም on cliff etc for the church to survive. One of the criticism on the EoC has been it merged local african traditions into christian practice including conversion to ደብተራ and worship of angels, dead holly people etc which may exist in catholic and other eastern orthodox but not biblical. EoC was influenced too much by kings and governments and got power through that. It ended up to mostly focus on dogma of Old testament and jewish traditions because of the theoretical oral tradition connection to Solomonic dynasty which diluted the EoC christian belief system. It has now bent for the OPDO/PP system and not even advocating for its priests being killed to keep its power and influences. Yes, EoC has influenced all spheres of the countries culture in clouding work ethics in bad and good ways and there is a space for EoC to change although not the way the Oromo imbeciles want to change it and it may be happening. Large groups drop out and form their own congregation called AMANUEL fellowship and this trend will follow in the generation to come. This is not hate and it is truth the EoC need to look at otherwise will have internal division etc.

What I mentioned above is my true standing. Protestant is a huge group. I am not a member of any sect. Specially now but I go to bothe Ethiopian and international evangelical churches. No a particular member now. I usually favored to go to MKC and full gospel churches in Ethiopia. Of most pastors my personal favorite used to be Pastor Daniel Makonen as he preaches the right gospel much experience and revelation. I have a reason to believe he was a good pastor. I don’t know much of the young and new ones in detail.
There is nothing I am hiding. I would comment on evangelicals or protestants about wrong things as I do to EoC. In all christian congregations there are strengths and weaknesses. I like the EoC contribution to national unity and their yaredic ሽብሽባ ከበሮ and ወረብ. But I focus on Jesus, his preaching, his teaching how to be saved, reading and living the bible which are the 66 canonical books but I don’t mind reading for knowledge the rest of the canonical books of other churches, EoC included. I believe the 66 books are thought to be strictly most inspired than the ones left out by evangelicals/protestans. Again, the number of books is not a point to fight on as far as some one believes in Jesus and lives the inspired bible.
The problem with you guys is not being open minded and መፅሃፍትና ራእይን ያለመመርመር ጉዳይ ነው:: EoC is intertwined with most Ethiopian lives in culture, heroism, Nationalist view, ownership, so called originality and orthodoxy etc instead of being a way of salvation and path to truth alone. Who ever commented or criticized on EoC is looked as የማርያም ጠላት and demon possessed, hater etc which is wrong. Because of foreign invasion, past colonization attacks and hate toward Africans has rendered us to stick to what we had and without being open to the outside world. Ethiopians should examine ideas, acquire knowledge and have to be willing to change if necessary. My point of discussion is not to propagate hate or anything against orthodox but this is my thought. In a politically polarized country discussing this subject could be polarizing in itself and stop it here. If EoC no more emphasizes on angel worship and brings Jesus to the forefront, that is an excellent disposition. But I liked the EoC in Tigray emphasize on Jesus and willing to call cults in their names if there is no political motivation to it!

Ok, I was right thinking you are a member of full gospel ሙሉ ወንጌል as most of ethio pentes and African pentes derived from this group. Read below. This group is founded very recently (less than 70 years) and focuses highly on spiritual gifts (which I call dramas). What I mentioned above is my true standing. Protestant is a huge group. I am not a member of any sect. Specially now but I go to bothe Ethiopian and international evangelical churches. No a particular member now. I usually favored to go to MKC and full gospel churches in Ethiopia. There is nothing I am hiding. I would comment on evangelicals or protestants about wrong things as I do to EoC. In all christian congregations there are strengths and weaknesses. I like the EoC contribution to national unity and their yaredic ሽብሽባ ከበሮ and ወረብ. But I focus on Jesus, his preaching, his teaching how to be saved, reading and living the bible which are the 66 canonical books but I don’t mind reading for knowledge the rest of the canonical books of other churches, EoC included. I believe the 66 books are thought to be strictly most inspired than the ones left out by evangelicals/protestans. Again, the number of books is not a point to fight on as far as some one believes in Jesus and lives the inspired bible.
The problem with you guys is not being open minded and መፅሃፍትና ራእይን ያለመመርመር ጉዳይ ነው:: EoC is intertwined with most Ethiopian lives in culture, heroism, Nationalist view, ownership, so called originality and orthodoxy etc instead of being a way of salvation and path to truth alone. Who ever commented or criticized on EoC is looked as የማርያም ጠላት and demon possessed, hater etc which is wrong. Because of foreign invasion, past colonization attacks and hate toward Africans has rendered us to stick to what we had and without being open to the outside world. Ethiopians should examine ideas, acquire knowledge and have to be willing to change if necessary. My point of discussion is not to propagate hate or anything against orthodox but this is my thought. In a politically polarized country discussing this subject could be polarizing in itself and stop it here. If EoC no more emphasizes on angel worship and brings Jesus to the forefront, that is an excellent disposition. But I liked the EoC in Tigray emphasize on Jesus and willing to call cults in their names if there is no political motivation to it!

Tabot has no value because the tabot, the sacrifice, the priest Jesus replaced them. Orthodox does not necessarly mean Tabot. Nobody knows where the Tabot is.
