Israel backing off?

Post by Zmeselo » 02 Jan 2026, 10:32

Focus. Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 Pressure Tests Israel’s Diplomatic Ties Over Northern Somalia. The breakaway region.

Saudi diplomatic PRESSURE is expected to INTENSIFY in the coming days.

A diplomatic source says Israel 🇮🇱 may move to withdraw recognition of the separatist region in northern Somalia.

What are you trying to do ZM, give the PP morons a heart attack. The Poor Horse was braying like an a.s.s. for two days hallucinating that the recognition would save the crumbling Ethiopia.

Not really at Saudi doesn’t have any leverage over israel
Saudi’s said they will only deal with Israel if there is a guarantee for a state for the palestenians. And the Israëls will never accept a state for the palestenians. Why Somaliland matters is because israel wants to deal with the houthis and Iran Somaliland is the perfect place. I think this deal went through

Slowly but surely. As far as I noticed, no other countries came forward to back up Israel's recognition of SL.

Ethiopia under illiterate Abiy Ahmed is yet again in wrong side of history.

Ethiopia has not taken a side, and it is unclear why it is being mentioned at all. To date, it has neither expressed support for nor opposition to the matter as of today.

As for whether other countries will follow suit, it is still far too early to draw any firm conclusions. Only a week has passed, and much of the discussion is taking place behind closed doors. That said, I have seen indications on the X platform suggesting that Nepal and Bangladesh have recognised the Somaliland passport. Among African states, however, there has been no such development so far much of what is circulating at present amounts to little more than speculation. Some claim the UAE will be next, while others suggest that once the President of Somaliland signs the Abraham Accords, additional countries may follow. Time will tell indeed these are undoubtedly interesting times.

Furthermore, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations has stated clearly that Israel has the sovereign right to recognise whomever it chooses, and that each country must ultimately decide for itself. The United States has not altered its official position regarding Somaliland’s status. Nevertheless, several Republican senators and members of Congress have expressed support, with related bills either having been introduced or currently under review to recognise Somaliland. For now, the situation remains fluid, and only time will reveal how it unfolds indeed
