I have been saying since January 2024 that the Horn of Africa's status quo that land locks Ethiopia must be shattered and new HoA order must be structured in which Ethiopia regains her historical place in the Red Sea.

This is a problem that will not go away. Ethiopia will not stop, will not go back to sleep until the Red sea prison is busted open. How and when this will happen may be complex but it must happen and it will happen.

The earth shaking Israeli recognition of Somaliland and the birth of a friendly nation next door is one major positive step in the right direction.

What Ethiopia needs is a creative disruption of the stifling prison erected against Ethiopia by the same dogs barking at Israel. It is the same Somalia, Sudan, Egypt, Arab leadue etc who armed and financed EPLF & TPLF to render Ethiopia land blocked.

But, there is another more threatening factor - the Israeli factor.

Israelis did not take this action lightly. They fully grasp the global consequences of their move and if we know them by what they do they will execute what they say.

Israel want to patrol the Red sea themselves, period. It is my deep belief that Isayas does not want to go against Israel at all.

In this context, to oppose Israel is to stand with Houthis and other enemies of Israel. And, I can't imagine Isayas joining the coward Egyptians to oppose Israel.

As for Somalia, he might try to bring the leader to his political sphere, but that is a tough call.

Issaias had begged the Russians and Chinese to lease Asab and to support him diplomatically but the Chinese and the Russians especially rejected all his offers. The Russians and the Chinese do not want to own and invest a military base in unstable poorly governed territory by a mercurial leader, such as Eritrea.
