The Durg, TPLF, EPLF, EPRP and most Ethiopian parties were left-leaning organizations. They did not want to use the Ethiopian Orthodox Church as a tool to maintain political power. But they did not favor Islam or any other christian denominations either. EOC lost the preferential treatment it used to get but was not targeted as you are alleging. Abiy brought it back into playing politics when he used it to destroy its origin - Tigray. It is highly likely that at least one of you was left-leaning in their youth. Your posts were driven with emotions, and your feelings are stopping you from making high-quality intelligent analysis.

Entryism is the infiltration of a political party by members of another group, with the intention of in an attempt to expand influence and expand their ideas and program or subverting its policies or objectives.

EPRDF was originally an organization of irreligious left leaning politicians. More study needs to be conducted to understand the gradual control of EPRDF now Prosperity Party by Protestants & Pentecostals. What is now undeniable is that Ethiopian government is now controlled by Protestants & Pentecostals.

The term "Control" in politics and corporate world refers to the authority to make the decisions of a corporation / state regarding operations and strategic planning, including capital / wealth allocations, acquisitions and investments, top personnel decisions, and major marketing, production, and financial decisions.

"Control" is achieved when a group has, by definition, at least 50% voting power in the Cabinet of Ministers. In the current Ethiopian political setting, power is concentrated around the PM who is a Protestant / Pentecostal. On the top of that, the current Cabinet of Ministers is 52% Protestant.

Orthodox: 43.5% of the population while making up 22% of the cabinet

Muslim: 33.9% of the population while making up 26% of the cabinet

Protestant: 18.6% of the population while making up 52% of the cabinet


In the current cabinet, Orthodox + Muslim < Protestant; 22% + 26% = 48% < 52%

TPLF's heavy hand on Orthodox church is clearly documented. TPLF started it by unlawfully installing a new patriarch (tagay pawlos) and persecuting others. TPLF agents went to monasteries and assassinated monks who are pro Ethiopia all over Ethiopia.

We all remember Sibhat Negas speech that says " We have broken the vertebrae of Amhara and Orthodox church".

In the first 15 years of its power, TPLF favoured muslims telling them that the Orthodox and Amhara were oppressing Islam. The wahabi sect was free to install all its fanatic ustazs throughout Ethiopia. The WikiLeaks clearly documented it on its cables. Traditional sufi Islam was replaced by wahabi sects and this development alarmed U.S and it was at this point that TPLF was ordered to bring a peaceful Islam sect called "Ahbash" and Wahabi vs TPLF collision started .

No doubt, Tplf is the enemy of Orthodox. What is shameful is Tigrayans were devout Orthodox, still they claim to be. You cannot be Orthodox while embracing ethnic politics, promoting lgb... Tigray is suffering the consequence. I fear for the innocent Tigrayans their number one enemy are Axumezana types, Tplf, Shabia and Olf! PP is not helping Tigray free from these enemies rather exploiting it.
