To me it doesn't matter whether you are a Christian or Muslism. My village was half Christian, half Muslims. My childhood friends were both. Some of my relatives are Christians. Not all Gurage Christians are haters of Islam. Though quite a substantial portion of the Gurage elites have learnt to be christian extremists. That is bothersome as they are influencers. Tragically, they have been successful in Muhir 8 mosques burned within one week and Enor where in Gunchirye school girls were beaten and then arrested for wearing hijab. The city came out demanding their release. Police killed the people who sought release of the female school children.
No need to go back to history but you raised the closeness of Kistanes and Muhir in the culture of Christianity. I will tell there is more than that between the two.
