The issue is not ethnic federalism. The issue is the federal government falling in the hands of one ethnic group dominance. How do you avoid that is a subject of discussion. Remember, ethnic federalism as an ideology has been built on the minds of majority Ethiopians for the last 70+ years. It is not something that can be altered in a fortnight. Also, it is best you engage Oromos and Tegarus than military confronttion on this subject. This is the same for Somalis, Afars, Sidamas and benishangules...etc

in my view, ethnic federalism should continue giving less emphasis to it at the same time allowing regions to handle their own internal affaris themselves (a source of conflict for many). It should be for the future generation to decide up on it. The immediate task is to let the country continue and find peace to itself

The immediate task is to let the country continue and find peace to itself

The way it is structured now makes it difficult to find a peaceful resolution. That was a deliberate handy work of the TPLF and EPRP.

Except the people of Amhara, the rest is really submerged in to their own bubbles of ethnic hegemony. The idea that a Tigrian or a Gurage or an Oromo think of Ethiopia first is simply impossible at this point in time. They always think of their ethnic groups first and how much they can extract from Ethiopia as the expense of others. It is not about the house, it is about the kitchen or parts of the house carved piece by piece.

But we have a ready made solution which the world who has gone through it provided. A governance based on individual rights and basic human rights. Not a group (ethnic) but human (individual) rights.

I think, better rally the people of Ethiopia behind FANO. Remove the goons, stabilize the nation and give way for a competent and mandated all inclusive transitional government.
