Try and learn to respect the choices others make. It's just the right thing to do to respect individual's choice of convictions, conscience and beliefs grounded by morality, ethics and law.

Ethnic slurs are prelude to violence. Insults always come first before violence. A person who insults your mom or dad or race is more likely to physically assault you than another who never uttered an offensive word to you. Ethnic slurs demean the whole group. It's a psychological war to dehumanize the whole population of a group in stereotypes as thieves, pickpockets, cheats and scammers. Members of such targetted groups lose respect by society which also affects their self-esteem.
