What would Gurage say if I don't punish their enemy where and when I can.
If I see a Silte, I would do same. Both of you left Gurage for money. And, I did in the past when I had come in contact with him.
Hate breeds hate.
You, Selam and Lidetu are going to bleed. It's a battle of existential threat for Gurage.
Take all your sefer people back to Shewa if you want peace.

It was the monster evil Mengistu Haile Mariam that weakened and killed the elite cream de la cream of the once mighty Amhara people who built and defended Ethiopia for centuries. The tyrant Mengistu with full cooperation of opportunist Mesonites of the Haile Fidas and termites of Dr Senay Leekies and many Hodam Amharas and Guragie such as Melaku Tefera, Fikre Silasie Weg-Aydres, Kassa Kebede, Dej Kebede Tessema, Shambel Daniel Assse-fa, Mengistu Gemechu, Debela Dinsas, Tesfaye Gebrekidan who wiped out the elite Amaras, crushed Amara dominated businesses and traditional institutions.
Why did Shaleqa Mengistu Haile Mariam hate the Amhara elites and institutions to this extent? Was the so called illegitimate grand child of a Showa Amara, sometimes called "Dorzie or shanqo" held any childhood grudges?

You raise good points.
Melese Zenawi and Sibhat nega et al sufferred the same inferiority complex as Mengistu. In their motto, they wrote dawn their enemy to be Amhara and Orthodox. That perpetuated hate for the two and untill the two redeem themselves and they stand their ground, which the Amhara Fano are doing, it will continue.
Leaders of the current regime appear to suffer similar problem even when all past elites are gone and the regime refuses to accommodate civilian questions of Ethiopian North, that is Amhara.

Melese Zenawi and TPLF sent over 40 university skilled professionals to exile due to fear of opposition. They saw it to let prof Asrat die in hospital. The current regime did similar thing including the clandestine killings of Generals etc and banishing Oromo oppositions to exile.

It is a culture now, whoever ascends to the power ladder beats, kill, send to exile or prison all people that it is not comfortable with or send to prison. This cycle has to stop somewhere!

When I hear his name I feel like throwing up. Menigstu h/m was an illiterate soldier with bad heart and evil nature. Him surviving and living a full life not too far away from the country he destroyed is a testament for who we are as a society.

But to look at this evil man in isolation is a very big mistake. We have to look at him in context of the Ethiopian students movement, specifically the political organization such as EPRP, MEISON and other leftist political parties. Their political upheaval instigations and exaggerated campaign created Mengistu h/m and his group. The Mengistu group have no a clue what communism was.
Ethiopia lost its brightest generation of modern Ethiopia in just one night. And the roads to hell was paved the same night by the cursed generation and evil soldiers who called themselves DERG.

By the way Birr Nega, Dagnachew and Horus are members of the cursed generation.

I agree, the whole system was a curse, marking the darkest event in Ethiopian history. The entire generation was basically wiped out. And that trauma has continued to live to this day!

The cycle had to stop a long time ago. It could stop a long time ago if the nation produced a meaningful number of literate citizens.

I was a patient person when I joined this forum more than 18 years ago. There isn’t much knowledge that I know now that I didn’t know then.

I counted you in for a meaningful intellectual discussion in order to help break out of the cycle. I have since then identified three additional ኣዙሪቶች።

You dismayed me from the outset that you were out of touch about intellectual discussions. I don’t know if your ego stood in your way.

I have since then broken each of the three ኣዙሪቶች in a scientific way.

Yet, you fall back in each of them time after time.

What you posted above is a glaring example.

I am not a party to the so called Ethiopian revolution of 1974.

I was a little boy who probably didn’t learn yet about retaining memories. What I noticed the morning of September 12, 1974, in a fraction of a minute is etched in my mind ever since. I was literally sitting at the feet of my late dad when news broke over the radio in the morning of that day. Where I was sitting informs you about how young I was then.

Evidently, I didn’t know what it was about. All I noticed was a happy laughter, my late dad asking what it was about, and turning away in sadness at a moment’s notice after becoming aware of the news. My memory is about a first time experience of seeing happiness and sadness of two family members that I had known to be happy together.

I later went to an elementary school and a new college that were built during the time of Menghistu.

If I can trade my entire education for the lives of these irreplaceable leaders of the nation, I would do so at a moment’s notice and go back to tilling land for a living.

Land to the tillers was delivered at the expense of the lives of the nation’s leaders at the time.

I have read you brag on this forum not a long time ago that land to the tillers was delivered because of your courageous generation.

I have met somebody else who bragged about the courage of saying land to the tillers for the first time in Ethiopia.

If you say a revolution, there should be no walking back from partaking and identify a lone scapegoat for its colossal consequences.

If it is our tragedy as a nation, it remains our tragedy as a nation.

Objectivity demands that Menghistu wasn’t alone in carrying out the revolution. I have heard several of his speeches. I have no memory of him speaking in ኦሮምኛ or speaking on behalf of ኦሮሞ his entire life as a leader of Ethiopia.

It is a FACT that the EPLF existed as an entity in 1974. Whether its existence was legitimate or not at the time is another question.

However, it is also a FACT that Menghistu wasn’t the original leader of the so called revolution and that it was less likely than not that he would become the leader of Ethiopia but for the tragedy of General Aman Andom’s alleged attempt to deal with the EPLF.

Whether that dealing was legitimate or not is another question.

I am only trying to bring to light the gravity of its consequences including in Eritrea.

We all need to have an enough literate people who must be able to analyze events in their own spaces and times.

Instead, we have people like you who, consciously or subconsciously, perpetuate the cycle using various excuses like ጋላ ፓጋን፣ ኦሮሞ፣ ቅቤ፣ ዋርካ፣ መሃይምነት፣ and so on.

Your fall back remains: ሁለቴ የተደፈረን ኪዳን አድስ ነዉ ማለት ነዉ።

እኔም ከማን ኣንሼ ብዬ ልድፈር ብል ኣስተምሮኛል ያልከዉ ቀድሞኝ የደፈረ ከሁለቱ ኣንዱ ሆነ።

ግዜ ደም ያደርቃል፣ ዕዉነትን ያጎላል።

You are walking partly literate here because you identify others that were party to the national tragedy.

Was he illiterate or evil? Can illiterate and evil coexist?

Forget about Menghistu for a moment. Is anyone, including you, who says ጋላ in 2025 a literate?

Think about it, when you attack head of military and economic developers, through Shock and Awe, as in just like eliminating the heads of Iraq generals, the Derg itself ate itself the Tplf eliminated the Ethiopian military, this tactic stops the nation as a whole, then destruction of the nation gradually follows because the Shock and Awe atrocities of the heads of a nation freezes the population and will not act against the enemy within and outside. When Ethiopia was attacked by Italy for colonization under Ase Minilik and Ase H Selassie, the leadership of these kings were not the enemy but fought against the enemy along with the population and and the people inspired by their kings ,themselves organised within their community to continue to fight Italy until victory. Whereas, when the leadership itself as in Derg, Weyane especially, eats up the population and former leaders that were natural leaders, then the nation is at risk of survival. Pp government is hard to see because, the country was handed to them whom most were part of Tplf governments, would not be expected to save the nation as pp is the product of Tplf. Plus, pp's rule can get away with atrocities because the nation was already broken through 2 governments of Derg and Tplf that literally destroyed the nation and its population. Pp so far has not reversed what Derg and Tplf did. Rather it is focusing on attracting foreign occupation on Ethiopia
