So far, PIA has treated Abiy's repeated talk of Assab — often raised in Ethiopia’s parliament and other public forums — as mere noise. Rather than addressing it himself or through Eritrea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs or diplomatic channels, including reaching out to the UN Security Council or major international organizations, he has left the issue to the Ministry of Information to respond to stop the ዋጭዋጭ.
