In the interview, he is not concerned that Ethiopia is a threat; rather, he is worried that Ethiopia is falling apart. The fabricated Ethiopian threat is a tool to terrify Eritreans.
In his interview in Arabic with Egyptian TV, the Eritrean dictator expressed concern that Ethiopia is falling apart from within. This stands in stark contrast to his campaigns in local media, which target Eritreans inside the country, and on social media, which target the Eritrean diaspora, portraying Ethiopia as an imminent threat to Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
