Horsey,

It has been 3 days since the Somaliland president visited Addis! What is going on? Has your Paki source nothing to report? It is the fate of low-IQ people to wait for something that will never happen! Are you so dumb that you believed there could be a way for the implementation of the MoU!

The Memorandum of Understanding is now effectively defunct, as the talks have collapsed. While there have been some ongoing discussions regarding security and related matters, the principal issue under consideration was the use of the Berbera port an arrangement reportedly instructed by the United Arab Emirates.

During the negotiations, Somaliland proposed granting Ethiopia a naval base in exchange for formal recognition. However, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed declined, explaining that he could not recognise Somaliland because of his existing agreements with Mogadishu and his desire not to upset either Somalia or the broader region. In response, Somaliland’s leadership made it clear that without recognition, there could be no deal.

What the Ethiopians seem to misunderstand is that Somaliland is not primarily motivated by financial gain but by the pursuit of international recognition. They are not interested in shares of Ethiopian Airlines or in acquiring fertile land; their goal is legitimacy. This is the same principled stance that led them to reject billions of dollars offered by China in exchange for severing ties with Taiwan.

As it stands, the talks have collapsed entirely. The MOU is off the table for now, although both sides did manage to reach some understanding regarding port access and trade cooperation.
its very simple Mogadishu cant accept Somaliland recogntition under no circumstance
Somaliland cant accept a deal with out getting recogntion from Ethiopia under no circumstance
result Ethiopia cant get access to the sea
