Gurage is sold for money. All the politicians in the region are handpicked opportunists who only care about money. lacha garuma is a home grown Oromo leading Gurage. Gurage is in Gada system. The youth is not even in the region. Only old people at home. That is how the shele killed the sodos because there was no strong man in those exterminated houses. Sodo Hoe is singing for their death and paid for that.
The gurges and so-called other progressives think there is all inclusive gov. If there is one, why are people killed, abducted, exterminated, arbitrarily imprisoned? and violence and conflict all over mostly perpetrated by those in power. I know and am sure you know there were many startups that failed for some reason. Gurage may be selfish. A new hypothesis from me. Don't you see even from old days they are divided and even became accented not to understand one another well. Many of course won't come out as Gurage because Gurage and Amhara are too Ethiopianized and became victims of being faithful to the country/nation. The are afraid of retribution by the state if one of the rich people come out and create a media and air Gurage issues. Basically, the rich are victims of their own making. To save their investment they have to be loyal to the state. They cannot come out. To show that loyalty, they failed to start on big media and Gurage is subjugated to Oromo Brodcasting or news agency. Also, as Gurage are fragmented, it may be that the startups, especially YouTube don't get much viewer and shut down. Many listen to Amharic media. But as Gurage is close to cities, if there was one satellite news media, even countryside dwellers with electricity etc should have been able to use it. As I used to say, Gurage will remain a vasal of whoever is in power due to poor organization, division by benefit and competition within the region. Gurage will have trouble to make its voice heard.
