I disagree, if you are worth of it, also respectfully!

This is an art of debilitating of the notorious black market, successfully!

Here is what has happened in reality:

USD/ETB
146.5519 Br
LIVE
-15.58 %
ethioblackmarket.com

Now black market value is below that of the actual and official market. If you had a us-dollar in your pocket yesterday, then you got it at something less than 15% of that value today in the same your pocket.

A good trader!

I nominate the current chair of the NBE for a noble prize for such an innovative doing of business!

DefendTheLie,

https://www.ethioblackmarket.com/

Here is the blackmarket swinging like a drunken sailor. It fell to $1=180Birr. Rose to $1=146birr. Is now at $1=160 Birr and falling! There is no formula to make official and black market equal. in the meantime, Ethiopians are today 7% poorer than they were yesterday.

The country is bunkrupt because a bunch of idiots wasted hundreds of billions on painting sidewalks!

The IMF-imposed currency depreciation that devalued the Ethiopian Birr by 600% is meant to make state-owned enterprises cheaper for foreigners to buy in accordance with IMF's general terms and conditions for heavily indebted countries that cannot repay their debt.

For instance, Ethio Telecom, the leading phone and internet provider in Ethiopia, has already been auctioned off to a foreign company to pay off some of Ethiopia's external debt.

The Ethiopian Airlines that was once valued at $3.5 billion dollars, is now worth a fraction of that amount due to currency devaluation, and whomever buys it has struck gold! I just hope that, for the sake of our pride, the new owners don't change the name of the Airlines. But we can't really guess what the wealthy Arabs can do. We're basically at their mercy. :x :x

I once thought Deqi Arewit was merely joking when he remarked that Eritreans on this platform or rather, supporters of the PFDJ lose sleep over fluctuations in the Ethiopian birr’s exchange rate. Yet it appears he was neither joking nor exaggerating. It seems there are indeed those who concern themselves more with the state of the Ethiopian economy than with that of their own nation. What, then, are we to call such people? Misplaced priorities, indeed.

To be concerned with one's nation, one has to have one. To be worried about a nation's economy, then one has to have an economy, which are both absent in the case of the fake Eritrea.

Eritrea is a fake nation, created with a dubious circumstances (an illegally installed regime of a rebel group consented to the creation of a fake state without the proper stakeholders having a say in it).

That fake state has no meaningful economy, it exists on an handout of its own artfully created body of refugees from abroad. Eritrea is supposed to be around 6 Millions, half of which still resides in the desolated land of Eritrea, while the remaining half is existent as a body of refugees, scattered all over the world.

Eritrea doesn't produce anything worth of a name!

So, what are they expected to worry about?
