Eritrean Independence was compromised by the UN
This short video clip is posted here for the benefit of Ethiopians who truly believe that the Haileselassie regime did NOT criminally obliterate the UN-mandated autonomy of Eritrea under the "Federation" that the UN adopted between Eritrea and Ethiopia. Under such a rule, Eritrea was to be federated with Imperial Ethiopia for ten years, after which a UN-sponsored public plebiscite was to be conducted to determine whether Eritreans wanted independence or union with Ethiopia. This never happened for the diminutive Emperor of Ethiopia, who illegally decided to override his mandate and made Eritrea the 14th province of his empire against the will of the inalienable right of the Eritrean people. As a result of that greed-driven, immature action of the old emperor, the undermanned and under-equipped Eritrean people had to endure a 30-year war of independence against a well-armed and internationally supported Ethiopian armed forces. The proud history of the Eritrean men and women who, against all odds, beat the Ethiopian war machine and proudly achieved their hard-fought and won independence of Eritrea, included ወደብ ዓሰብ።Case closed!

Sadly, Eritrea is like an abducted child that is left in the wilderness. It is yet to find a compass for its heritage. There isn’t any that the cradle didn’t already invent.

This is a pointless debate , Eritrea is independent recognised by all the world states and the UN. the question is can eritrea regime stop its obsession with ethiopia and involvement with ethiopia politics . this is the main issue can eritrea regime focus on developmnt for eritrea

The 1952 UN Resolution that federated the nation of Eritrea to Ethiopia was intended to last 10 years, which the international community felt was enough time for Eritreans to help civilize and modernize backward Ethiopia.
Haile Selassie, however, felt that Ethiopia needed at least 100 years of Eritrean guidance to achieve a semblance of civilization and modernization, therefore he violated the UN mandate by illegally annexing the nation of Eritrea, which in turn he inadvertently wrote his own obituary, and that of his backward country. That's all she wrote!
