Because you are ignorant of them, it does not mean everyone is in your boots. Ask for a light.

Imperial Ethiopia was a state that had colonized large tracts of its neigbours. The decolonization process was historically inevitable. The only question now is how far does that decolonization go? Will it mean everyone going their separate ways? It appears so.

De-colonized African countries still are made up of so many ጎሳዎች.most live in harmony and not interested in pursuing ethnic federalism and separatist politics.
Sesame ,
The problem with Eritreans is failing to look into themselves and foolishly pretending to have a wonderful country.
Ethiopians biggest issue is how to reverse the nefarious ethnic federalism planted by TPLF-Eritreans and Tigrans. BTW except the moslems,Eritreans and Tigrians are one and the same.just like the Afars in Ethiopia, Djibouti and Eritrea.[ /size]

Tiago,
The difference between other African countries and Ethiopia was that the colonizer was not in Europe but in Addis. But what is worse, the colonization was brutal! A century of grievances cannot be so easily white-washed. Mengistu had the opportunity to create a just and a progessive state. But he got derailed by that age-old Ethiopian tendency to decieve themselves. He believed that with Soviet support he could crash Eritrean aspirations! That criminal intent eventually erased his regime. Meles' agenda was not to create a united Ethiopia. We know how that game ended. Wedi Beshasha had a golden opportunity to correct past blunders. But he has turned out to be just another fantasist! And not a smart one at that.

Indeed, you are Arab and Italy background you are the product of colonizers of Ethiopia's region at the time aka, Mereb Melash. You took it by force in the 90s so understandable, you are not from Ethiopia lets alone from Eritrea. This is the reason you do not relate

Tiago,
Shame on you, your explanation trying to make excuse or admit Ethiopia's colonization of its own region and people?? Sesame is not even discussing the colonization of Eritrea by Italy, British, And Egypt who crossed oceans, borders and different in race, religion creed from Eritrea : it is because Sesame is the product of those true foreign colonizers. Is it a surprise he is saying that?

Professor Naga Tuma,
First, kudos for recognizing that there was problem with so called student revolution. It was not cooked well. it was copied from socialism/marxism leninism.የልጅ ነገር ሁለት ፍሬ ውአንዱ ብስል አንዱ ጥሬ!!
Right ideas should get proper answers and appreciation.
Mr Horus making a lot of noise in this forum was part of that revolution and did not mature even today.
I agree with 3 of the points you posted. Here they are:
About መሬት ላራሹ: The farmers were so abused by the feudal system and landownership by farmers was a right thing to do but at the end of the day land became government property but not for the tillers even today!
Nagati!

40 or more words that make absolutely no sense. You are not, by any chance, in a competition to write the longest paragraph without making any sense, or are you!

Nega,1. መሬት ለኣራሹ የማለት ኣብዮት
3. የራሳቸዉን ጎሳዎች የማያዉቁ የጎሳ ክልሎችን መመስረት
So, you can sometimes say something that makes sense.
You are absolutely right on those two points.
What makes it difficult to grasp is that it is directly copied from the Soviets policy, translated and adopted by law (an overnight proclamation without any debate or process).
Land is a very sensitive and complicated issue that needs enormous studies, debates and deliberations through a fair and legal process.
If you look at the former Soviet bloc’s countries those who adopted the Soviet land policy such as Romania, Albania, Bulgaria and many other countries still struggling to progress. But countries like Poland and Czech who didn’t are progressing.

Back to square one.
I am not sure what exactly you want to say.
The Ethiopian Land policy is the worst in the world. The real owner of the policy, the Soviet union has reformed it before the collapse of the soviet union. Abandoned it after the dissolution.
Ethiopians realized that it is a failed policy before the great famine in the 80s. The famines that persisted for decades is the result of a failed land policy. The Ethiopian students at the time, with the dangerous little knowledge they have thought it is the solution for economical disparities in Ethiopia. The famous say “little knowledge is dangerous”.
But Ethiopians don’t know what to do about the failed land policy. They stared at it with deep confusion. They rather beg to eat than deal with it head on. At this point Ethiopians are not capable of governing themselves.
They are just carrying on with the same land policy which basically is a cause of constant hunger and poverty.

You can forever talk about the land policy in Ethiopia.
One of the topics is about the mass transfer of land through the so called revolution in Ethiopia without any study about land ownership.
In hindsight, it was tragic that it was done without a solid study.
I am not suggesting reform wasn’t necessary. I am suggesting a solid study should have preceded the mass transfer of land through an excuse of a revolution.
It sounds to me that we are on the same page on this topic.
What do you think about the fifth topic, which I would like to call the mind policy for the purpose of this discussion?
I am reposting it below for your convenience.

I have little knowledge and opinion on the subject of religion.
Religion is better left as a human right where every individual has the right to worship his/her own religion based on the rules of law.
Unfortunately religion is used as a tool to advance political agenda. What happens then is not different than now.
Religion is basically worshipping gods or a similar fixture as a creator or a taker. Then, how in the world one is better than the other?
It is a mystical question without an answer. I don’t practice it and I am not into it.

Do you happen to have a position or view about Renaissance?
