You are in charge; how will you fix Ethiopia?
I don't have to tell you the situation Ethiopia is in, as if now and as it is in Ethiopia, how do you fix the country's problems. Mind you that Ethiopia has left without any friends with her neighbors, Eritrea, enemy. Sudan enemy, Somalia enemy, Egypt enemy not to mention what IMF and world bank are doing. Where do you start? Or is it even possible to fix the country?

Not easy fix because Abiy has done a lot of damages to Ethiopia but not beyond possible.ZEMEN wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025, 11:39I don't have to tell you the situation Ethiopia is in, as if now and as it is in Ethiopia, how do you fix the country's problems. 1. Arrest and charge clown tyrant Abiy Ahmed, his advisors and minsters with treason including charges of reckless wars with negligence to human lives, genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
2. Suspend the current constitution
3. Establish a transitional government
4. Establish a commission to write a new constitution with powers to create new provinces(regions or states), districts and subdistricts based on population sizes (the Philipines example). Boundaries will not be languages, mountains, valleys or rivers.
5. Establish effective security apparatus(police and military) to ensure the safety of the people and territory of Ethiopia, and bring criminals, terrorists and kidnappers to justice.
6. Illegalize linguistic and religious imppsition of one on another. Equality of identities of all ethnic and religious groups shall be guaranteed. In this regard, maintain a neutral foreign language as an official language. That will be English at the moment. In the past Ethiopia had Italian/Arabic, French, Portuguese and Greek languages as official languages.
7. Respect internationally recognized borders of neighboring countries. Disputed borders with Sudan, Kenya and Eritrea shall be settled by peaceful negotiations, which may include a 'Give and Take' approach.
8. Reform the labor laws of Ethiopia for independent labor unions and salary increases to cope with rising cost of living.

Good take, thanks. How about the economy? corruption is structural, how do you intend to solve that problem. And I agree with you said, and I would redistrict the entire kileles. I would go with what it was during Haileselassie and Derg times.Dama wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025, 12:32Not easy fix because Abiy has done a lot of damages to Ethiopia but not beyond possible.ZEMEN wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025, 11:39I don't have to tell you the situation Ethiopia is in, as if now and as it is in Ethiopia, how do you fix the country's problems. The genie is, as they say, out of the bottle! Humpty Dumpty is broken and even God himself cannot put him back together. The best case scenario is disintegration with least damage! Worst case scenario: A bloody denoument ten times as bloody as Yugoslavia! God Have Mercy!

ZEMEN:
Ask not what anyone else can do to fix it. Ask what you can do to fix it.
This is not a cliche. It is classic.
By the way, by a mere chance, I once came across an important question that you asked Horus regarding “ethnic” federalism. I couldn’t easily find it again. I would appreciate it if you remember it and pull it up.
Re: You are in charge; how will you fix Ethiopia?
Corruption is a crime. Existing criminal laws if applied by an effective criminal investigation by a strengthened Ethiopia's security apparatus can end it to a large degree. No new laws may not be required.ZEMEN wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025, 12:38Good take, thanks. How about the economy? corruption is structural, how do you intend to solve that problem. I do not know the principle upon which the provinces were created during Mengistu and Haile Sellasie. There existed around 9 provinces before Haile Sellasie created 5 more, for a total of 14, after came back from self-imposed cowardly exile in London.
Population based provinces, districts and subdistricts allow for creation of new ones as populations grow beyond and above the population size for a province, district and subdistrict.
Re: You are in charge; how will you fix Ethiopia?
In a perfect world, you are right. However, I am Amara, I was oppressed by TPLF and now I am being hunted and killed by the Galas. What options do I have rather than to wait for Eritreans to care of this stupid leader called Gala Abiy. I hate war but I pray that this dumb PM will fire a single bullet towards Eritrea and then, problem solved. ZEMEN wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025, 11:39I don't have to tell you the situation Ethiopia is in, as if now and as it is in Ethiopia, how do you fix the country's problems. Re: You are in charge; how will you fix Ethiopia?
I would educate the Ethiopian people so they may develop critical thinking skills necessary for distinguishing truth from lies, and facts from fairy tales.
