Misrak, I felt really uncomfortable assuming if this performing lady could be ours, Eritrean included. That was reaction from my instinct perhaps because we have not grown in this kind of culture. Now, I will make suggestions as to what should be done to stop the exodus of Eritrean young girls in search of men and livelihood.

-- Looking at the root causes:

a) Who is over recruited for military service, men or women? If the sex ratio at the province level is imbalance because all military age boys are in service ( life-time duty), as long as there is Shabia and War, this remains chronic - or perhaps even there would not be fertility and child birth - in stead Nigeria will become fertile. In stead of a baby boy, say, named Equbay Tekeste, he will be named Equbay Obasanjo. No more Deqi Eritrea, but Deqi Nigeria.

b) Impoverishment, absence of civilization and development. For any 21st century youth where information is on the tip of his/her finger and the world already becomes one village, Eritrea ( an isolated and a left-behind province) is unattractive. Thus, every girl dreams to leave Eritrea by any means possible - on foot, raft, airplane, spousal visa, etc. Eritrea is repellant not a magnetic force attracting or keeping the youth. The solution is to depose Shabia and see if they can appeal for re-integration with Ethiopa.

It is the idea and topic we have to discuss here. Ethiopia is 120 million strong. 1000 or 100,000 bad apples doesnt dent the 120 million strong. In contrary, this issue is devastating for Eritrea. The exodus of Eritrean women to west African men has already exposed Eritrean men to a severe form of m@sterbation a.k.a ግለ-ወሲብ while at the same time reducing Eritrean birth rate.

Our Eritrean brothers paid dearly for their existence and independence but losing that existence and independence in a way they never thought they will is really disappointing.
