War-torn Ethiopia says the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is now complete

Post by AbyssiniaLady » 24 Jul 2025, 13:06

War-torn Ethiopia says the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) is now complete, that is fine and all good, But powerless war-torn Ethiopia cannot utilize its full potential without reaching a legally binding agreement with powerful Egypt, this is a nightmare, what a waste of money.

Access to fresh water is recognized by the United Nations as human rights – fundamental to everyone’s health, dignity and prosperity. Egypt, with a population of about 117 million people, relies on the River Nile for nearly all of its fresh water.

Egyptian air force planes.

The US is threatening war-torn Ethiopia with dire consequences if war-torn Ethiopia fails to reach a legally binding agreement with Egypt.

In a phone call with the illiterate Galla Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had threatened war-torn Ethiopia with dire consequences and punitive action if war-torn Ethiopia fails to reach a legally binding agreement with Egypt, that is why not a single so called state-controlled media reported it, In the meantime, US State Department approves $4.7bn surface-to-air missile package to Egypt.

The Djiboutian camel herder, abyssinia P unani, Ethiopians know Arab and egyptian psychology more than you do. Abysslady is from Djibouti, a small village that should not have existed but for the military stations in it and the resource from Ethiopia. How did the GERD get completed? Egypt crying  Egypt has been crying about Nile before, during and at the time of building GERD. It will continue to cry. It will continue to beg and recruit modern war toys, but Ethiopia will continue to erect more dams. Arabs are whinners. No body cares what beggar Egypt says or does. It is such an inept country who trades on Palestinian suffering. It is a parasite country in the desert. We just want to make sure OPP does not sell the Dam for political or profiting reason. That is all. Egypt can keep on whining screwing Shabiya, Somalia and partially Djibouti

War-torn Ethiopia doesn't have military and military equipment, what Ethiopia has is few discarded, outdated Soviet Union-era military equipment and two second hand Russian fighter jets, War-torn Ethiopia will not stand a chance in a war with Egypt, It will end up being wiped out.

Egypt will definitely blow up the so called Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam if an agreement is not reached over operation and water flow and war-torn Ethiopia won't be able to retaliate against powerful Egypt.

Egypt will never allow Nile water to be touched: El-Sisi to Uganda president

Tuesday 12 Aug 2025

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Tuesday that Egypt will never allow its share of Nile water, which sustains 105 million Egyptians and about 10 million guests, to be touched.

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi speaks during a joint press conference with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Cairo Egypt. Al-Ahram.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Cairo with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, El-Sisi underlined Egypt’s complete rejection of unilateral measures in the Eastern Nile Basin.

“Anyone who imagines that Egypt will turn a blind eye to an existential threat to its water security is mistaken, We will continue to monitor the situation and take all measures to safeguard our people’s existential resources,” El-Sisi warned.

El-Sisi’s remarks were referring to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

El-Sisi recalled Museveni telling him that in Uganda, Egypt means "the garden." "This garden has no other water source than the Nile—we have no rain," he said. “No one can imagine that Egypt would abandon it. Giving up any part of it would mean giving up our life—and that will never happen."

“Once again, I reassure Egyptians that we will never allow the waters that sustain 105 million Egyptians and about 10 million guests to be touched. We do not call them refugees,” El-Sisi concluded.

The most retarded, anti- Ethiopia personality on ER is Abyssinia lady. For that retarded soul, I one again say, it is Ethiopia that decides about the river Nile, not Egypt.
Not only the dam, if we are antagonized, we use the water and soil, which is the lifeblood of Egypt, extensively for irrigation.
We are living in the 21st century, and Abyssinia lady and her Arab masters in the 18th.

You are mentally slow false banana eater SNNPR animal, I am not Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, so don't cry on my shoulder.

The Egyptian government only possesses the absolute power to control and decide the amount of water of the Nile reaching Egypt and into the Mediterranean Sea and that's exactly what President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has been saying.

Ethiopia is powerless war-torn miserable country.

Egypt, Sudan say GERD poses ‘ongoing threat’ to Eastern Nile Basin stability

Wednesday 3 Sep 2025

Egypt and Sudan stated on Tuesday that Ethiopia’s Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) poses a persistent threat to stability in the Eastern Nile Basin.

In a joint statement issued after a meeting of their foreign and irrigation ministers in Cairo, both nations underscored that the dam "represents a continuing threat to the stability of the situation in the Eastern Nile Basin under international law."

The meeting, held as part of the 2+2 Consultative Mechanism, reaffirmed Cairo and Khartoum's shared stance on the project, while asserting that the disputed dam breaches international law and poses serious risks to the downstream nations.

They cited dangers arising from Ethiopia's unilateral moves to fill and operate the dam, concerns over its structural safety, and the risks of uncontrolled water releases and poor management during droughts, according to the statement.

They also rejected any attempts to involve other Nile Basin countries in the dispute, insisting it should remain exclusively between Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia.

In today's 2+2 Mechanism talks, Cairo and Khartoum agreed on the need to protect their water security, according to the statement.

They also reiterated their commitment to collaborating to protect their full water rights and the 1959 agreement between them, working under the principle of a community of shared interests and equal rights.

The two sides stressed that Sudanese and Egyptian water security are one indivisible part, reaffirming their complete opposition to any unilateral actions in the Eastern Nile Basin that could harm their water interests.
