Commercial Bank of Ethiopia pushes the official exchange rate to 151.5 bir per dollar, using ‘bonus’ as excuse

Although it claims the ‘bonus’ is 10 birr, the actual increase is 12.7 birr. It jumped 9.2 % overnight.

Yesterday they were buying 1$ by 138.7486 birr, this morning 151.5236.

The blackmarket is likely jump higher.
