The Government of Japan will lease additional land in the coming months to expand its military base in Djibouti once again, that is according to Japan's military media outlets, In June 2011, Japan opened its first military base outside Japan since World War II in Djibouti by leasing a 12-hectare-plot next to Djibouti International Airport.
Djibouti earns more than half-a-billion dollars in rent annually from hosting the United States, China, France, Japan and Italy military bases and Spain and Germany in France military base, Djibouti also enjoys the security of having multiple superpower military allies, especially the United States, China and France.
Djibouti is leveraging its enviable strategic geographic location on the northwestern Somali Peninsula to the fullest.

More Than 95 Percent of The World’s Trade is Currently Carried Out By Sea

Northeastern Somali Sea.

Central Somali Sea.

One of seven major ports in Djibouti - Northwestern Somali Sea
Landlocked East African countries, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi are suffering due to Kenya's high levels of corruption, delay in customs clearance, massive theft and diversion of goods destined for neighboring landlocked countries in Mombasa port, and consequently, Rwanda and South Sudan are strategically shifting as much as 50 percent their trades from Kenya’s Mombasa port to Djibouti port, It generally takes ten to fifteen days for goods to transit from Mombasa Port to Rwanda, Before it was 20 long days on average for imports and exports to make the trip from Kenya's port of Mombasa to Rwanda's capital Kigali.
I wonder if people in war-torn landlocked Ethiopia realize how lucky they are to have Djibouti as a neighbor country, Djibouti has again and again proved itself to be very reliable and trustworthy country.
On behalf of war-torn landlocked Ethiopia's eighty-five different ethnic groups, I want to thank Djibouti for its excellent and trustworthy service, Thank you Djibouti.

In July 19 2024, Rwanda has received its first transit shipment via Djibouti port.
Rwanda is now a significant user of the Port of Djibout, Rwanda-bound cargo from around the world are shipped to the Port of Djibouti then airlifted to Rwanda's capital, Kigali within two days. RwandAir Cargo launched the sea-air cargo services to Djibouti International Airport on June 19, 2024 and never looked back.
Djibouti's enviable geographic location on the Somali Peninsula allows for efficient multimodal transport, combining sea and air routes for faster delivery.

Djibouti Has The Highest Internet Connectivity In East Africa

Djibouti - A city that light never goes out.
In 2023 and 2024, 70 percent of Djibouti's population was online.
In 2024 and 2025, Somalia saw increased internet connectivity, with more than 60 percent of Somalia's population using the internet in 2025, congratulations to Somalia.
In 2024 and 2025, 19 percent and 21 percent of war-torn Ethiopia's population was online.
He said people are aware of the camera, glad to hear that, Social media is a multi-billion dollar industry, Africans can learn something from Somalis about self-dignity.

Blessed Somalia.
Mogadishu’s residents have the choice between staying home, going to outdoor parks, going to the pristine beaches or doing some recreational activities like angling, paddleboardings, surfing and scuba diving, they have all these options and many more options right in front of them, All thanks to having the longest coastline in Africa, Sadly, that's not the case with Addis Ababa's residents.
However, Addis Ababa's residents have a chance to make a choice, choosing between staying home or going to the unity park/the sheger park and enjoy watching the boring dancing fountain, that is all, There are no recreational activities in Addis Ababa or attractions.

This is Somali Region in Kenya

Somali village.

Somali town.
I stumbled upon this fantasize tweet, Somalis have probably seen it.
There is a population explosion in corrupt Kenya and it is running out of Bantu and Nilotic lands at a very fast pace and therefore some Bantu and Nilotic people are dreaming about resettling in Somali region, Fortunately, Somalis are territorial and they are awake, they also possess unmatched ability to defend their territory against any invaders.
Somalis have already demonstrated unmatched ability to defend their lands effectively, they successfully kept both of Ethiopia's 93 different ethnic groups and Kenya's 77 different ethnic groups at bay for centuries, That is why there is no ethnic group in Africa that has bigger land and bigger coastline than Somalis and no ethnic group will ever break Somalis record.

Map showing 2019 ethnic groups in Kenya.

Map showing 1970 Kenya ethnic groups.

There are over 77 distinct ethnic groups in Kenya and the total land area of Kenya is 569,140 square kilometer and a little over 264.993 square kilometer which rightfully belongs to Somalia is one hundred percent in Somali hands.
A short history lesson
66 years ago, Ethiopia's 93 different ethnic groups (including Eritrea) and Kenya's 77 different ethnic groups signed a defense agreement pact to protect and come to each other’s aid if either were attacked by Somalis, The defense pact was signed in Addis Ababa, Haile Selassie was the mastermind of the defense pact, He managed to unite 170 different ethnic groups in two countries to fight against a newly independent Somalia, The 170 ethnic groups renewed the defense pact in 1979 and again for the last time in 1989, Haile Selassie lived in fear of Somalis and spent sleepless nights.

Today, Both war-torn Ethiopia and corrupt Kenya are teetering on the verge of collapse and disintegration.

Djibouti Telecom to extend DARE1 cable from Kenya to South Africa
September 1, 2025

Djibouti Telecom has unveiled plans to extend its Djibouti Africa Regional Express 1 (DARE1) subsea cable system, a critical infrastructure that already links Djibouti, Somalia, and Kenya. The DARE1 network is designed to deliver high-capacity, low-latency, and resilient connectivity, strengthening regional integration and enabling the expansion of cloud, content, and digital services across East Africa.
The new southward extension will significantly expand the system’s reach along Africa’s east coast, enhancing route diversity and connecting additional markets. Planned landing points include Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar, and South Africa. All new segments will interconnect at the Mombasa (Nyali) trunk station, ensuring seamless service across both existing and extended routes. The projected length of the new route between Mombasa and Durban is estimated at 3,200 to 3,500 kilometers.
Work on the extension is expected to begin in 2026, with a target ready-for-service date in 2028. By integrating these new segments, the cable system will improve resilience, add alternative paths for international traffic, and increase capacity to meet the growing demands of carriers, enterprises, and cloud providers.
The DARE1 extension is envisioned as a regional African cable, complementing existing systems and contributing to the development of a stronger digital economy. With scalable bandwidth and more reliable connections to global hubs, the initiative supports the long-term goal of building robust, future-ready subsea infrastructure for the continent.
The existing DARE1 system counts Hormuud Telecom Somalia, Somtel International Somalia, and Telkom Kenya.
