The Anseba Region women's team and the Central Region men's team clinched victory at the national under-17 football tournament, honoured with a lively ceremony at Asmara Stadium on Sunday, August 24. @ENFFONLINE2023

100%
The prosperity of every nation depends on regional stability, peace, and co-operation. Invest in people, infrastructure with strong communication and transport links and engage in trade. Too many people fail to recognize that this is not a zero sum game.

Meles tried to take Assab and either keep it or use it as bargaining chip. His army suffered catastrophic losses and he gave upAxumezana wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025, 19:26I believe Meles made a strategic error for allowing Isaias to take Assab with out any meaningful negotiation & I still regret it! . Axumezana was promoting taking over Assab by force but that was a tactical move to bring division between the two genociders that have been destroying Tigray.
Why do you think there was an "Assab front"?
The reality is that the Ethiopian army was ejected from Assab in 1991 and an attempt to retake it in 2000 was soundly defeated. Meles never gave anything.

Ethiopia is already hanging by a thin thread and one mistake away from implosion.
Lets hope that, the 50-year concession agreement Egypt signed with Djibouti to develop and operate the Djibouti port will help Ethiopia not to make any mistakes.
I remember when Egyptian politicians asked president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi why Egypt is not preparing to go to war over the Nile water. His answer was: "there are many kinds of war."
He chose to fight a smart war against a country led by illiterates basking in ancient glory. Checkmate!

Axumezana,
First, please don’t engage in cross-selling by bringing Tigray into the equation unnecessarily. I have no objection to the idea of Eritrea being part of Ethiopia, especially considering the reality on the ground—there are many Eritreans living in Ethiopia, just as there are in Eritrea. In fact, the intermarriage rate between Eritreans in Addis Ababa and Ethiopians from various regions remains quite high even today.
However, this should not be conditional on the status of Assab. The return of Assab to Ethiopia should come first, as a separate and non-negotiable matter.
Second, the root cause of much of Ethiopia’s current dysfunction lies in the ethnic-based federal system. This structure must change for the sake of national unity and long-term stability. We must put citizenship above tribal divisions.
