Us State Department and Tsimdo. መቃልሕ ጽምዶ ኣብ መሳርዕ ሚ/ጉዳያት ወጻኢ ኣሜሪካ ኣቃልቦ ይረክብ!

I had the pleasure of welcoming Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) Vincent Spera, along with Ms. Holly Mackey and Mr. Jonathan from the U.S. Department of State, to the Embassy of Eritrea in Washington DC, for a constructive and open discussion on regional and bilateral matters.

Our conversation covered key developments in the Horn of Africa, with particular attention to the evolving regional dynamics that could endanger the stability of the wider region. Reiterated the need for principled position on sovereignty, territorial integrity, and enduring commitment to regional peace and cooperation.

We also welcomed the recent, encouraging people-to-people engagements and initiatives along the Eritrean and Ethiopian borders, which symbolize a strong desire for healing, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence.

A significant focus was also given to Eritrea and US bilateral relations , the role in promoting regional peace and stability, and ways to reset and strengthen ties between our two countries on the basis of mutual respect and understanding.

As I congratulated my colleagues from the DOS on the occasion of July 4th - American Independence Day, I also affirmed that Eritrea remains committed to constructive engagement with the United States, founded on mutual interest, sovereign respect, and the pursuit of meaningful cooperation. @EmbassyEritrea

Clooney’s “Humanitarian Role” Is a Political Farce at Eritrea’s Expense

George Clooney, has once again revealed himself as a willing frontman for a familiar agenda: the demonization of sovereign states under the guise of human rights. His repeated attacks on Eritrea, this time through the misleading and politically motivated report by The Sentry, are nothing more than political theater with a clear geopolitical objective.

Clooney, who presents himself as a moral authority, has long operated within the circles of former United States diplomats and strategists responsible for some of the most disastrous foreign policy decisions in recent history. From the destabilization of the Middle East to the destruction of African nations, their track record is clear. They have consistently supported oppressive regimes, so long as those regimes served the interests of Washington.

In the case of Eritrea, Clooney is not speaking for human rights. He is speaking for power and influence. His campaigns follow a familiar pattern: selective outrage, moral posturing, and media dramatization, all disconnected from the lived experiences of the nations they target. That an actor with no meaningful understanding of the region feels entitled to judge the history, politics, and dignity of a resilient nation like Eritrea reflects a deep arrogance rooted in a Western mindset and a lingering colonial attitude.

George Clooney, has never been a neutral voice. He played a role in the misinformation campaign that led to the imposition of United Nations sanctions on Eritrea, based on reports that were never properly substantiated. His current position with The Sentry confirms, that the agenda against Eritrea never truly ended. It has simply become more refined, more global, and more polished through media narratives.

But Eritrea remains steadfast. It is not ruled by celebrities, nonprofit foundations, or Hollywood studios. Eritrea's independence, was not granted in a film studio. It was won through blood, sacrifice, discipline, and unwavering determination. No public relations campaign, can erase that truth.

If George Clooney is truly interested in justice, he should start by examining the record of his political allies. The administration of President Obama was responsible for military interventions, the refugee crises, the destruction of Libya, support for the TPLF regime in Ethiopia, and the coordinated effort to isolate and weaken Eritrea.

Eritrea asks for no special treatment. It demands only respect. It will not accept lectures from an actor playing a role written by others, for an audience that still views Africa not as an equal, but as a stage for foreign ambitions.

Eritrea’s voice matters! ✊🏽🇪🇷

The report compiled by @TheSentry_Org is a tool from the tool-box developed on how to stir another war between Eritrea and Ethiopia and especially Tigray. It is clear this report is the first of many orchestrated web to dismantle the people initiated peace overtures witnessed in the borders today.

They are restless and transparent. Just by looking at this recommendation 👆 tells you everything they are thinking and want to achieve.

The people of Eritrea, Ethiopia, Tigray have seen enough to outsource their peace and security to people behind these tools like Sentry.

The timing of the recent articles vilifying the dignified Eritrean Defence Forces is curious (Sentry, the Guardian). comes as the peoples of Eritrea & Tigray usher into peace & cooperation. There are those who benefit from instigating war. Lies can't hide the truth forever.

Eritrea demands no special treatment, only respect. It won’t take lectures from actors playing scripted roles written by those who see Africa as their playground.

Mr. Secretary,

On this 4th of July—America’s Day of independence and sovereign dignity—we urge you to reject Ethiopia’s desperate letter of distortion. Eritrea has honored international law, respected borders, and pursued peace. Ethiopia, meanwhile, defies the EEBC ruling, occupies sovereign Eritrean land, and fuels proxy wars while blaming others. This manipulative appeal is not a cry for peace—it’s a plea for cover.

As America celebrates liberty, truth, and restraint, we ask you to stand on principle: truth first, law first, peace first, sovereignty first—Fourth for Marco.

Eritrea seeks no war, no interference—only mutual respect. Ethiopia’s regime can not be allowed to drag the region into another needless conflict through false victimhood.

With respect.

As of 2024, over 80% of births occur in health facilities + more than 80% of ppl live within 10km of a healthcare facility.

-These gains reflect🇪🇷’s commitment to equitable, accessible healthcare for women/children & provide a strong foundation for inclusive social services.

🇪🇷 has achieved above 94% village-level abandonment of FGM/C across nation's 2,800+ villages nationwide--large rise from decade ago

-This is a testament to the impact of legal enforcement, social mobilization, and community-led change.

Q : What’s Slowing Down Russia-Eritrea Naval Base Talks?

Speculation over a potential Russian naval base on Eritrea’s Red Sea coast continues, but there’s little sign of concrete progress.

Eritrea has reportedly shown interest in hosting the Russian navy, yet talks appear to have slowed. One possible reason, is that Asmara may be seeking more than just rent ... possibly broader security or strategic commitments from Moscow.

Some argue such demands could complicate Russia’s position, particularly if a security agreement risks straining its long-standing relationship with Ethiopia. But, Moscow can't have its cake and eat it too?

There may also be hesitation on Russia’s part, due to competing offers from Sudan and possibly Yemen. A delay in finalizing an earlier deal with Sudan, for example, besides the ongoing civil war, might be due to Moscow’s reluctance to enter into a binding arrangements that includes a broader security or strategic commitments.

With traditional port-leasing deals now seen as outdated, regional partners may expect deeper commitments. If Russia is serious about establishing its first-ever naval base on the Red Sea, it may need to weigh the political and security risks its potential hosts are taking, and respond accordingly.

My 2 Cents!
