Keep in mind, Eritrea's FM Osman Saleh briefed diplomats, in March, on PP-Ethiopia's "sabre-rattling" & desire for Red Sea access & a naval base via military means. Don't say, Eritrea hasn't warned of Abiy's impending war!

No neighbouring state has ever denied Ethiopia access to its ports. Commercial use of Eritrea|s ports through mutually agreed agreements is open to all states. Land linking with transit states bilaterally…legally…is the only way to go for lasting peace and prosperity.

NEDemocracy-funded partisan media outlet, @addisstandard, has recently intensified its disinformation campaign against Eritrea. This desperate act of recycling old lies is intended to justify the war agenda of the warmongering party driving Ethiopia toward a grave danger.

The pattern/playbook is boringly the same. Some obscure entities with organic links to major intel agencies fabricate a defamatory story or narrative to sully the image of their victim country or prey; in this case Eritrea.

Within minutes, NED/USAID/EU funded media outlets (The Guardian et al and associated regional networks, Addis Standard etc.) recycle and amplify the story for maximum coverage.

This is the modus operandi of the subtly crafted Eco-chamber: the closed loop of defamation and disinformation.

This is the context and ecosystem of the resurgence these days, for whatever underlying reason, of the wholesale assaults against the EDF.

Let's underline the civilized Rules of Engagement of the EPLA during the liberation war and on whose legacy and operational doctrine the EDF was established.

Let us recall that even during the last days of the independence war, the EPLA released and ensured the safe repatriation of 100,000 Ethiopian POWs. (Article below elaborates on this legacy and the EDF's Rules of Engagement)
