Issaias Afeworki knows full well that his days in Eritrea are numbered if he loses Assab. He understands that the Tigrayan TPLF and the Fano Amharas will not die on his behalf to commit a political and historical suicide in Assab Front. In short, Issaias is very desperate and in panic.
Therefore, he sent his foreign minister with two letters in hand, one for Saudi Arabia begging for help and protection from Ethiopia, and the second letter for Donald Trump and the US Secretary of state Mark Rubio. He wants the Saudis to intervene and help him to reconcile his relations with America. The letter begs America that Eritrea will provide all support in Yemen, the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region to defend American interest.

What should Ethiopia do to defend its interest in the Red Sea and to defeat and hang Issaias Afeworki upside down by his own rope?

Ethiopia needs to build on its relations with US American Evangelist groups and point out that the Eritrean dictatorship is Godless and anti Christian that has jailed and killed tens of thousands of Eritrean and Ethiopian Christians for more than two decades. In short, point out that Issaias is the antichrist and the Muslim collaborator who is attacking the African Christians for material gains.
The Eritrean dictatorship has built over 450 prisons and dungeons to keep more that 100,000 mostly innocent Christian men and women for decades without any judicial process because of their belief in Jesus Christ.
The regime in Eritrea has also been collaborating with hostile Muslim Arab regimes and Shia Islam Iran to prevent and impoverish the Christians of Ethiopia and Africans from using and benefiting the Red Sea, as well as from defending its shipping lines from Jihadi Islamist terrorists in the Red Sea, such as terrorist Hamas and terrorist Muslims in Yemen.
Ethiopia needs to tighten its relations with Israel and by promising to Israel that if the Arabs and Egypt attack Israel, then Ethiopia will shut the Blue Nile water flow. Ethiopia will also build more dams on all Nile river tributaries. In case of war with any hostile Arabs or terrorists that Ethiopia will host and protect Israeli jet fighters and Israeli personnel, as well as its unmanned drones in Ethiopian territory.
Ethiopia will also share any hostile security information in the Horn region with Israel and the Donald Trump administration. Ethiopia should always point out that US America and the Trump administration is the greatest American President ever who defends Christian values and Christianity.
