When the TPLF redrew Ethiopia's internal boundaries along ethnic lines in 1991, they deliberately ceded some of Tigray's territories to the Afar region for the sole purpose of Tigrayanizing the Afar region by resettling hundreds of thousands of illegal Agame squatters there. 
The illegal settlers forcibly removed indigenous Afar population from their ancestral land to pave way for TPLF-owned sugar and salt plantations. As if that wasn't bad enough, the illegal settlers declared that they have become the majority with rights to invoke Article 31 of the Ethiopian constitution for self-determination and up to secession. No kidding!
As reported by VOA in 2012, the agame squatters submitted a formal request for self determination seeking to incorporate the Afar region into Tigray, but they faced a fierce resistance from Afar leaders who threatened to go to war to defend their region.

You are wasting your time flogging a dead horse. Tigrayans are not claiming Denkalia back to Afar region. Are they? Eritrean propoganda guided by the Fiyametas has descended Eritrea back to square 1. No wonder Zmeselo is trying to prove in 2025 that Eritrean Afars have actually voted for independence

It is VOA that reported that you agame wanted to annex the Afar region into Tigray, but lost the gamble. Don't be surprised if the oppressed and marginalized Afars in Ethiopia seek to attain their freedom by joining Eritrea, of course through a referendum. It makes sense, doesn't it? When facts aren't on your side, the next best thing is to splurge on "Africa experts" who'd churn out "history" for you...
