Bullet security, instead of food security:

Ethiopia in Numbers:
- 16 million Ethiopians live on donated grain. 🇪🇹 needs $3.2bn in HumAid annually
- 50% of 🇪🇹 children are malnourished
- 🇪🇹 had 7.3 million malaria cases and 28,129 measles cases in 2024.

Unless we have animosity towards Eritrea being an independent country, what are the legitimate reasons why Ethiopia is peacefully using the port of asseb?
I believe the benefits go both ways because Eritreans despite being from an independent country they have more Ethiopian affinity than Somalia ,Djibouti or Somaliland.
What are the ulterior motives behind not benefiting both people who have more in common?
I am not an Eritrean but the very idea we can't reconcile and accept Eritrea as an independent country is irrational.

What afinity does Eritrea or Eritreans have with Ethiopia other then bad blood 3 big wars the last 150 years nothing but misery I think if it was up to most Eritreans they would build Chinese like wall and never look back

You Shabiya bootlicker liar: lol:
Do we have Ethiopian migrants in Asmara? A quarter of millions and above Eritreans are in Ethiopia!
In fact, Ethiopians, not Eritreans would love a wall to be built between Eritrea and Ethiopia.
We don't think any relationship is going to work for the two countries up until the status quo remains (Shabiya in the north and Ethnic strife in the south created by Shabiya itself!). Many Ethiopians would favor walling off Eritrea and no more talk about them at all if that would entail peace.
Citizens are tired of hearing war drum every time a crazy "leader" rises in both or one of them

Unless a genuine leader comes to power in Ethiopia I'm afraid we will never be able to use Eritrean ports even if our lives depend on it. Like drug addicts, we kept borrowing billions of dollars from the IMF just to pay Djibouti, as our national debt balloons.

I think you're coming at it too late, and any answer given to your question is no longer relevant due to the fact that the relationship between Ethiopia and Eritrea has dramatically deteriorated since the empty bravado of clown monkey Abiy, misleadingly uttering that Ethiopia's claim to sea access was backed by history, in addition to disagreements revolving around the Pretoria Agreement.

In result, Assab port is not on offer, whether Ethiopia would like to use it or not.

In addition, people should not be fooled by the size of Ethiopia's population. Despite its large population, its export volume is considered insignificant compared to many other countries, primarily due to its reliance on a few primary commodities like coffee, and facing challenges like limited production capacity, poor infrastructure, and political instability, resulting in a low per capita export value among Sub-Saharan African nations. And a significant portion of its export volume is shipped via airfreight, particularly for perishable goods like flowers and fresh produce.

And when it comes to its imports, Djibouti Port is more than enough for it

Therefore, clown Abiy's access to the sea bullsh'it is just a distraction, and Ethiopia shouldn't need any other port, whether it's Assab or in Somalia.
