Africa is free from colonization and the preceding yoke of slavery now, but the trauma of those historical injustices is still lingering over all people of Africa and African descendants, because the injustice committed by the monumental crime of colonization and slavery has never been redressed.
The sole abolition of slavery and decolonization of the colonized people will not suffice to redress the injustice, the damages needed to be mended and reparation is needed.
Else it is not yet a full justice served!
That is why PM Abiy Ahmed gave the issue of reparation top of his address to the recent AU-Summit in Addis. He wants to spearhead the demand for the demand for reparation of the damages sustained by Africans and people of African descendants.
