BREAKING:

PM Abiy's Alleged Conversation with Somali President Leaked

📍"I don’t think it’s worth revisiting the MoU I signed with Somaliland; I haven’t even met Muse Bihi after signing it. It’s irrelevant to bring it up again. To clarify, I was referring to a rented port, not ownership of the sea.

👉President Hassan raised his concern about Ethiopia's involvement in Somalia. PM Abiy replied, saying

📍Frankly, I don’t even know the names of all the Somalia regions. I have no interest in dealing with regional governments. Even during the President Farmajo period, I worked directly with the Federal Government. Even now, I have no personal desire to engage with Somalia’s regional administrations. Any Ethiopian interactions with your regions were not initiated by me but by lower-level structures within my government. Moving forward, I will ensure these kinds of missteps are addressed. To be honest, I can’t even name all the regions of Somalia. What I’m looking for is a relationship like the one we have with Djibouti. We are not interested in military bases or sea ownership."

This alleged conversation was leaked to Ethioforum, an Ethiopian opposition media outlet with one million subscribers. The media criticized Abiy's falsehoods (deceptions), comparing them to his previous speeches.

BREAKING: Somalian Government Demands Ethiopia Demote Somaliland Embassy in Addis Ababa to Trade Office.

Somalian State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Balcad, revealed in an interview with VOA Somali that his government had reached an agreement with the Ethiopian government to downgrade Somaliland's embassy in Addis Ababa to trade office. He stated that this agreement includes the removal of all diplomatic privileges previously granted to the embassy and Somaliland ambassador in Ethiopia.

According to Balcad, Somaliland's embassy and its ambassador had previously enjoyed full diplomatic protocols in Ethiopia, equivalent to those accorded to sovereign countries.

He further revealed that the Somalian government has requested Ethiopia to downgrade its embassy in Hargeisa to a consulate level mission under the jurisdiction of the Ethiopian Embassy in Mogadishu.

However, it remains unclear whether the Ethiopian government will accept and implement these demands.
