Federal Ethiopia is Transitional Solution Towards Independent Oromia or Integrative Oropia
It seems that ethnic federation of Ethiopia is almost accepted as a compromise solution for the hitherto troubled Abyssinian empire dominated by Amaranet/Amarigna. It is not bad to transform the empire to such a union of free nations. But, the burning question yet to be answered is: how stable ist such ethnic based federal union? Is such union really in the best strategic interest of the Oromo? Let’s discard the old idea that Oromia shall separate from Ethiopia. Oromia is the stem from which others (branches) like Amharia and Tigrai may separate, not the vice versa. Is it in the best interest of the Oromo to give such chance of separation for the peripheral regions like Somali, Amharia and Tigrai? I don’t think so. That is why I prefer to advocate Oropia (Oromumma led Ethiopia) with geo-federation, which is more stable than the ethnic federation. The Oromo better strive to foster stable Oropia and consequently dismantle ethnic federation. Particularly, the three big regions (Amharia, Somali and Oromia) need to be divided. I would like to recommend the division in to Welqayit, North Amara (Gondar), West Amara (Gojjam), South Amara (Shoa), East Amara (Lasta), North Somali (Isa), West Somali (Fiq), East Somali (Ogaden), South Somali (Garre), North Oromia (Wallo), West Oromia (Wallaga), South West Oromia (Ilu-Jimma), Central Oromia (Tullama), East Oromia (Hararge), South East Oromia (Arsi-Bale) and South Oromia (Guji-Borana). Having such regions as federal states of Oropia is the more stable solution we have to forge. If not such stable Oropia be established, then separation of others from Oromia is surely well programmed and the Oromo will be left with only smaller Oromia, instead of owning the bigger Oropia.
