In the present political discourse, Kistane along with Mesqan, are separate from Gurage; are therefore different entities, pursuing different political, economic, cultural and linguistic goals. They share nothing with Gurage except the old Haile Sellasie time era label of Gurage.
Map makers at the present would not label Kistane and Mesqan as Gurage lands. They would lable them simply as Mesqan & Kistane.
They should stop using the word Gurage when referring to themselves as only Mesqan and Kistane. They chose to exit Gurage. Let them stay where they chose to be, not wander into Gurage.
