I have met an Eritrean here in the US who was offended very much when I said I personally consider an Eritrean like any other Ethiopian brother or sister. The immediate answer I received was that I should respect their choice. Growing up in Ethiopia, I considered them brothers and sisters no less than any other Ethiopian. I couldn’t even tell apart those from the two provinces.

I believe I was blamed for my comment and got a report for making an offensive comment.

The report didn’t say from who the blame came. I assume.

That was one of the times when I truly felt sad about their animosity with Ethiopians, understandably because of how much sacrifice they paid before and during the struggle. I could only feel how that person lost common sense when one perceives I consider you a brother or a sister to be offensive to the extent of reporting it.

Then again, I do not know what the old unionists would say when they see Ethiopia growing.

Now, back to the question that you avoided to answer. What is your ACTUAL position about the current federal structure in Ethiopia?

Eritreans are our brothers, they can do whatever ever they wish is my position. We will not force or request them to join us. This time is different than when you were growing up with them. Now, everyone sees the light. ምከረው ምከረው እምቢ ካለ መከራ ይምከረው ነው ነገሩ። every ethinc now sees hate and troubles will only finish us all, they see now we are truly the same people who are being manipulated by the ferenjis. As you may have noticed, hate among the very common people have disappeared. People now dont even want to hear about hateful politics anymore. Everyone found their places and understand their limitations now! The evil ones are discouraged and the good ones are empowered! God has won!

Anyway, regarding ethinc federal system. I think it's already dead. The people hate it. Its not benefiting them. Even the cadres are tired of it. Its actually making them wory about their future's well-being. The people are not even able to move freely from an area to another, and they know its the language based system that is getting them killed. And they know if they dont stop this very soon it will be over for them.

You and I know the ferenjis brought the ethinc federal system to divide the people and primarily to eventually defeat Amara. But it didn't go per the plan, Amara defeated them. So the ferenjis don't care for it now anymore because they exhausted it already. They are looking for a new way now. Good luck to them. Its not going to happen because Amara is empowered! A true power!

Once Fano come through the system will of cource be abolished. If any group want to persue it, Amara will be forced to claim our ancestoral lands which is majority of Ethiopia's lands so you can imagine who will lose if any group want to force us. But Amara is like a mother! If we can go back to the previous love and respect, Amara will be happy to give all our lands, waters and other resources to all Ethiopians.
