በማዕከላዊ ኢትዮጵያ ክልል ጉራጌ ዞን ከሰኔ 2016 ዓ.ም. ወዲህ ከ100 በላይ የአማራ ብሔር ተወላጆች “በሽብር” ተጠርጥረው ሲታሰሩ ስጋት ያደረባቸው ነዋሪዎች ደግሞ አካባቢውን ለቀው መሸሸታቸውን ለቢቢሲ ተናገሩ።

በዞኑ አበሽጌ ወረዳ ከሰኔ 2016 ዓ.ም. ጀምሮ ‘ፋኖ ናችሁ፤ የፋኖ ክንፍ ናችሁ፤ ፋኖን በገንዘብ ትደግፋላችሁ’ በሚል የፀጥታ ኃይሎች ድብደባ እና እንግልትን ጨምሮ “ማንነትን የለየ” እስር እየፈጸሙ መሆናቸውን በመግለጽ ስጋት ውስጥ መሆናቸውን አመልክተዋል።

የአካባቢው የሰላም እና ፀጥታ ቢሮ ኃላፊ በቁጥጥር ስር የሚገኙት ነዋሪዎች “በመሳሪያ ዝውውር እና እገታ” ወንጀሎች ተጠርጥረው የተያዙ ናቸው ሲሉ ለቢቢሲ ተናግረዋል።

አብሸጌ ወረዳው ካሉት 30 ቀበሌዎች እና ማዘጋጃዎች 16ቱ በአብዛኛው የአማራ ብሔር ወላጆች እንደሚኖሩባቸው የተናገሩት ነዋሪዎች፤ ካለፈው ዓመት መጨረሻ ጀምሮ ግን ከፋኖ ጋር በተያያዙ ክሶች ምክንያት “እየተሳደድን ነው” ይላሉ።

በተለይም ከዞኑ እና ከወረዳው መቀመጫ ወልቂጤ ከተማ በ42 ኪ.ሜ በምትርቀው ዳርጌ እና 30 ኪ.ሜ ገደማ በምትርቀው ዋልጋ የቀበሌ ከተሞች ላይ ‘የአማራ ብሄር ተወላጆች’ ማንነታቸው ተለይቶ እንደታሰሩ የታሳሪ ቤተሰቦች እና ነዋሪዎች ተናግረዋል።

“ከባለሀብት እስከ ቀን ሠራተኛ፤ ከፖለቲከኛ እስከ ወጣት፤ ከባጃጅ ሹፌር እስከ ሞተረኛ ድረስ” የእስሩ ሰለባዎች እንደሆኑ አንድ አካባቢውን ለቀው የወጡ ነዋሪ ተናግረዋል።

“እነሱ ፋኖ የሚሉት አማራ ሆኖ መሳሪያ ይዞ የሚንቀሳቀሰውን ሰው በሙሉ ነው” ሲሉ እስሩ ማንነት ተኮር ነው ሲሉ ሌላ ነዋሪ ተናግረዋል።

These are Amara names of places on Gurage lands. These places must have had Gurage names before the new settlers came in, some neftenya settler colonists of Menelick but most I believe are drought victims of Wello and Tigray.

Gurages, listening to the gov of the day, cooperated, accepted, accommodated and helped the new comers settle in their midst on Gurage ancestral land.
Why did the newcomers felt uncomfortable to leave Gurage names of places as is? It would be regarded a respect for the people and their traditions who accepted them. Erasing Gurage names of places is not act of a grateful payback?

There is no difference between Amhara and Gurage. Do you know there is even little Oromia in Minnesota, little Ethiopia in many places in the west? No body cares what they call the area. In USA, if you have money, you could buy a road name, pay for it and name it by your name or clan name.

Is it not stupid when you ask a fellow Ethiopians what they named their neighborhood because they live among Gurage? We should be happy they live with us, among us.

The question should have been why are they being rounded up among the Gurage, why are not protected by Gurage? I used to hear, wolkite university was like mini-Ethiopia where all ethnics are at peace with no discrimination or abduction. Why is not Gurage a sanctuary to any one being attacked by Abiy regime?

Why are you not happy if these Ethiopians you discriminated as Amhara could create a connection with Fano to get some self defense equipment to the Gurage, if they can?

I know you have some good knowledge of certain regions of Gurage and the history, but you really are a bigot in many things. First thing Gurage needs friends not foes to stand up to self-defense and it does not have many friends due to its locations.

Please stop attacking Amhara and Christians. Keep your bigoted idea to yourself and this does not serve the broader interest of Gurage.

Gurage, in history, has had many traitors, sellouts, bandas. Together with varirous enemies of Gurage of the times, they killed, tortured, looted and raped Gurages for money and power. They either acted individually or as groups.
For example, the defeat of Gurage by Menelick. Agents of Mengistu giving out names and addresses of suspected EPRP members and supporters.

The Gurage bandas accepted bribes to convert to Christianity and lay down their weapons. After which, when required by Ras Gobena Dache, they fought on his side against the Gurage resistance.

Some very influencial leaders, like Tufa Bune of Chebo, worked as a sleazy under cover informant unbeknown by Gurage leaders, giving Menelick the locations of Gurage bases, times the fighters go to sleep or days they have celeberations to attack them unprepared.

This Gurage identity hater because he thinks Ethiopianist is like that, that is to not subscribe to any identity other than Amara. He argued against the writing and development the Gurage language. That was the day I blocked his account so that I don't read his banda posts regarding Gurage and he does not read my posts. No idea how he read my post. He is not supposed to.

He hates Gurage identity development and protection. He hates debates justice, especially for victims of religious violence.

He doesn't read a page on Gurage. In many ways he is a donkey about Gurage. He is practically ignorant on Gurage history and politics. He did not know what to read and where to get them. They may not have been perfect, but they did beyond their limit for their time compared to the current shisha generation and tablaists. We all have been thought by Amhara scholars here and there to make us what we are today.

Ethiopia to be blessed, to be peaceful etc.. instead of the corridor, MoU Amhara needs to be respected first. This should include everywhere in the country and even in the neighborhood.

I am saying this not because I am Amharanized, or I am in love with Amhara, but it is fact. Amhara did not kill others like animals the way it is happening in the country or what happened during TPLF.

Amhara should rise not bend his head because with Amhara, everybody rises.

ጥቃቱ ትላንት ጥቅምት 20 ቀን 2017 ዓ.ም ከምሽቱ 2:00 ገደማ ጀምሮ እስከ እኩለ ለሊት መራዘሙን የጠቆሙት የአካባቢው ነዋሪዎችና የሟቾች ቤተሰቦች በጥቃቱ ሕጻናትን ጨምሮ እናቶችና አረጋውያን መገደላቸውንም ተናግረዋል።

የተከፈተባቸውን ጥቃት መመከት ያልቻሉ አርሶ-አደሮች ቤታቸው ውስጥ እያሉ በእሳት እንዲቃጠሉ በማድረግ ከነከብቶቻቸው እንዲሞቱ መደረጉንም ነዋሪዎች ገልፀዋል።

በአካባቢው የመንግሥት መዋቅሮች በኩል እስካሁን ስለጉዳዩ ግልፅ መረጃም ሆነ ድርጊቱን የሚያወግዝ መግለጫ አልተሰጠም።

ሼይኽ ሙሀመድ ከሳምንታት በፊት የሱብኺ ሶላት አሰግደው በሚመለሱበት ወቅት ነበር ቤተሰቦቻቸውን ጨምሮ ከ30 በላይ የሚሆኑ የአካባቢው ሰዎች ታግተው በሸኔ ሀይሎች መወሰዳቸው የተገለፀው። ከቀናት በኋላ በተደረገ የገንዘብ ድርድር የኢማሙን እናት እና ባለቤት ጨምሮ ጥቂት ሰዎች መለቀቃቸው የተገለፀ ሲሆን ኢማሙን ጨምሮ 12 ቤተሰቦቻቸው  በዛሬው እለት መገደላቸው ተሰምቷል።
