Paradigm Shift is visible

Post by DefendTheTruth » 22 Sep 2024, 04:43

Just before few years most popular Oromo music were those which called for defeating, crushing, chasing away, or killing the "enemy" and the singers were pretty sure to garner more than enough listeners and fans in the general public with such songs.

Now it has shifted, only the musics calling for peace and accommodation, tolerance and harmony of the people can attract listeners, make the music popular and guarantee enough fan to warrant the tenability of the singer's music in the general public.

Calling for violence has disappeared in the musical scene of the Oromo people!

I think there was a story we heard about King Menelik or HIM consulting their advisers and asking how the people's songs are before turning to craft a new legislation for the people. Oromo music is the heart beat of the overall political and social situation.

Oromos feel that they have got the power and they need peace to enjoy it. Same was true for TPLF.

Was the most popular song in the general public those calling for peace or for more of a violence back then in Tigray? Examples?

I don't think Oromos feel that they have got power, there are still many politicians complaining about lack of power, Prof. Merera Gudina is one of them. He was willing to compete and win a sit in the Parliament back then, as an opposition politician. OLF was not shooting any gun at anybody back then, Jawar Mohammed didn't think it was worth coming near to the scene and wage the struggle from within or nearby position, and many more.

That all have changed now: Prof. Merera opted to boycott the election as a whole, OLF started to finally shoot its guns and recruit more and more of its fighters, Janjoo also opted this time to come nearer and stir the violence from within and nearby positions, the Oromo region is in a turmoil now more than it was during the TPLF era.

So, what is your proof that the Oromo feel to have power?

The only thing I can assume is that they are undergoing a mass awakening up, saying no more manipulation and agitation.

You may sing about peace but you proved to be as greedy, as diabolic and as short-sighted as your Agame predecessors. Instead of sharing with your fellow countrymen, you wanted aggrandizing. Instead of peaceful accommodation, you wanted control by force. You had enough lessons to learn from your Derg and Agame predecessors, but you thought you were smarter. Well, you are now going to learn the lessons they learned. But I am afraid, you might have taken the dysfunctional nation to its deathbed!

Okay, we could be called "dysfunctional" but still we are also a full fledged nation, unlike our northern neighbor, which is not even a nation and on top of it more dysfunctional, by any standard of an imagination.

Shabos calling others dysfunctional? hilarious!

Full-fledged, you are kidding. Look at what is happening in Tigray. They have their own Army and have refused to dis-arm. The TPLF is disrupting Getachew's government and Abiy can do nothing about it. It is the most bizarre situation one can imagine. The entire Amhara region is up in arms. Large portions of Oromia are a lawless jungle. Wherein lies your nation? USAID suspended aid because there was large-scale, organized theft. To this day, no one has been held accountable. Ethiopia is a dysfunctional nation that is teetering towards disintegration. And the funny thing is, the PP dimwits want more trouble. Every day, they come up with crazy notions that can only multiply their crises. Ethiopia, I am sorry to say, is a joke. The whole set-up is a joke.

Bang on point. Short-sighted. These herds want to impose their language. They vigorously say we will lose if we dont learn their primitive language.

Did you decide not respond or didn't find time yet to do so?

Well, I remembered in the meanwhile about the fire & straw (እሳት ና ጭድ) innuendo, which was used by top leaders of the TPLF itself.

If it was indeed promoting peace in Tigray, let alone in Ethiopia, then how could it also use innuendo of fire & straw in the same country at the same time?

Double standard?

Fact is TPLF never has called for peace, always for violence. It grabbed power by means of violence and maintained it with the same violence, the whole episode of its rule.
