What did those refused to learn Afan Oromo miss?

Post by DefendTheTruth » 21 Sep 2024, 16:12

They might have missed many things, but missing the content (core message) of this song is a monumental lose for them.

ብዬን ወሰኑ ዲዶ ኛቴ፣ አቹማን አምብፍቴ!

I think this song must have been from the years of Italian invasion of Ethiopia (my interpretation by listening to the content), and the man of Salalie, the land of the brave men of the country, never budged, never surrendered, never feared! He praised and prayed for his King, HIM Haileselassie. Demanded from the UN to discharge its responsibilities, asked the people of Ethiopia to stand up (ከኢ ኢትዮጵያ!) and fight and defend their father land!

The Second Italo-Ethiopia war cost the lives of 750,000 Ethiopians. Double this number maimed. Billions worth of the economy went down the drain. It shouldn't have to happen. It happened only because Haile Sellasie fired the first shots at Italian border police at Walwal watering hole while the British surveyors were surveying the land to demarcate the border.

This is just one of his calous behavior that always endangered the lives of Ethiopians. For example, his overthrow of prince Lij Iyasu, the legit heir to Menelick's crown. He wanted to be a governor of Harar, his birthplace but Iyasu would not offer him.
Or his hiding the Wello drought of 1974 that killed 2million Wello Ethiopians. He could have asked for world help but he hid it from the world, allowing 2,000,000 souls to perish, mostly mothers and children.

Have you ever heard about the idiom legends never die, but heroes do, or something similar?

The legend lived and then passed down to the next generations even after many many decades.

Here Tadele Gemechu also sings about going to the UN, the General Assembly, (አለም መንግስታት) and appeal to it, the same phrase Wosenu Dido used during his time of foreign aggression.

Yes, we could have hanged whip and chain in our museums and cultural shows, instead of the current shield and sword we show proudly.

Dtt,

How can we assume that we missed anything when we see Oromos make a mess of their opportunity to rule Ethiopia! In only seven years, you turned off everyone. I doubt if there will be anyone in the future who would want to hear Oromigna much less speak it. You blew it!

DDT

Does not understand, if he is truly Ethiopian Oromo, the problem is not about learning Oromo language, the problem is 1. destroying Ethiopia’s thousands of years unique and original civilization that predates your Latin and English you inherited. By the way, Latin and English letters were inherited from Geez/Amharic ask Horus he will show you the proof. 2. You are saying you were colonized like Somalia by inheriting Latin and you are enforcing it on Ethiopians Oromiya occupies: Oromos, kembatas, etc, and now enforcing it on Addis people.

Oromos who migrated from colonized Kenya and Somalia to Ethiopia, given this mission to change Ethiopia as part of colony too. I have a hunch you are smuggled Oromo with no ties to Ethiopias culture but obsessed with tplf style ethnicism or you are Shabian or Wahabi fulfilling your dream destroying Ethiopia as supporter of double agent pp. You are more dangerous than any other enemies because you have entered in the yolk of Ethiopians
