Following the collapse of the Axumite Empire the Horn Africa have been unstable and a playing ground for the Arabs, Portuguese, Ottomans, Americans, USSR and Egyptians. Currently, it is a playground of the USA, EU, China, Russia,Iran,Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Egypt. During TPLF/EPRDF time Ethiopia's influence on the Horn of Africa was slowly growing but ultimately failed due to the slow and aborted internal democratization process and the wrong strategy TPLF/EPRDF followed on Eritrea allowing the wounded anti-Ethiopia Isaias to survive and transform himself as a wild beast to commit genocide on Tigray. During the last six years, Ethiopia has been bogged down in its internal affairs & conflict which further weakened Ethiopia’s position to the extent currently Egypt has practically surrounded Ethiopia with the objective of choking & disintegrating it at the cost of the Horn of Africa people.

" Therefore, due to Egypt’s standing strategy of securing the lion share of the water from the Nile river( under the pretext of ensuring water security) at the expense of more than 300 million people around the Horn of Africa, it has been obsessed in sabotaging the peace and stability of Ethiopia and Sudan for more than 50 years and as the result, the whole of Horn/East of Africa has been unstable and remained as one of the poorest regions in the world and major source of migrants to Europe, USA and elsewhere. Since the mid of 20th century, the Horn of Africa has witnessed the death of millions of people, aggravation of poverty and wastage of scarce billions of dollars for a war that could have been used for development due to the behind curtain destabilizing activities of Egypt"




The way forward:

- Ethiopia has to resolve its internal conflicts through win-win agreements and democratization.
- Proactively work to deny Egypt any strong hold around & in the Horn Africa
- Ethiopia has to recognize that its leadership role as a regional power and African leader is irreplaceable and vital for itself, the region and Africa
- By aggressively deploying its soft, military and intelligence power, it has to make sure that its neighbors are not used as a proxy for its historic enemies, such as Egypt and Turkey.
- Leverage on its leadership position in Africa and the Hoer Africa/ Middle East it has to create alliance with Africa friendly superpowers including the USA,EU,China, India and Israel.
