The splinter group from TPLF in the year 2000, led by Siye Abraha, has successfully penetrated TPLF to the extent of kidnapping Getachew Reda and making him it's puppet. All calculations & moves of the incapable Debretsion has failed and a political turmoil & dangerous standoff is underway in Tigray.
Debretsion has reached a dead end and what are the options available for him to move forward or exit politics ?
1- Debrestion to cancel the decisions of the illegal 14th congress and reconcile with the splinter group and agree to resign with an immediate effect and elect another young leader to led TPLF under new vision. That shall save TPLF (all sacrifices & legacies of TPLF to preserved) but Sibhat Nega dynasty shall be replaced by Siye dynasty. TPLF shall be left under a new liberalized and democratized structure, allowing other competitive political parties to flourish in Tigray and out of Tigray . Tigray unity & peace is sustained!
2- Trying to get support from the Tigray security forces with the objective of crashing the splinter group and taking over of the Tigray administration against the Pritorea Agreement which may restart the war with PP. Tactical alliance with FANO & OLA to weaken and remove PP from power but Tigray will be once again the center of war which could invite Isaias for another genocidal war to subdue Tigray and incorporate it under Eritrea
3- Supporting Tigray Security forces to abolish the temporary administration and establish a temporary military government under the leadership of one of the generals . This is against the Pretoria Agreement and could lead to war.
4- Trying to strengthen his relationship with PP with the objective of getting PP support in crashing the splinter group but that will render TPLF to be the puppet of PP which will take all the sacrifices of Tigrayans down the drain. Democratization of Tigray will be aborted
5- Tactical alliance with FANO & OLA and external forces like Egypt and Isaias government. That is treason of the highest degree and will be rejected & resisted by the Tigrayan people and the splinter group in coordination to PP. Another round of war in Tigray.
The way forward:
Debretsion has to reconcile with the splinter group and agree for his immediate resignation to give way for Getachew Reda to led TPLF under new vision. The new TPLF shall work with PP to defend Ethiopia from foreign invasion and allow competitive political forces to flourish both in Tigray and beyond Tigray. It has to also be on the side of PP to implement #Abiy Bring Back Our Access to the Sea " & install Tigray/ Ethiopia friendly government in Eritrea. Under this option, legacies of TPLF and sacrifices paid shall be preserved while TPLF is reborn with the new vision and political program that makes it relevant to the 21st century.

First, the name "Tigray Liberation Front " is completely not only outlandish but also is an utterly secessionist name. Any party that comes by the name of region, religion, or tribe is not a political party - it simply a counter productive and anti- to all other groups outside of it. TPLF all in all, as a "party" has to be demolished. It already destroyed the Tigre people as it did to the sovereign interest of Ethiopia. By the way, is TPLF an Eritrea "people" party, because TPLF was against the people of Tigray and Ethiopia at large.
